Percy Jackson Fancast (Part 1)
So, I’ve seen fancasts for the upcoming Percy Jackson series, and I thought I’d post some possible ideas. Uncle Rick, I doubt you’re reading this but if you are, hear me out.
I always liked the idea of Percy, Annabeth, and the other half-bloods being faces we haven’t seen before while the Gods are super well-known actors, so I’ll only be casting the gods.
Michelle Pfeiffer as Hera
Hera requires a perfect mixture of elegance and rage, a combination that Pfeiffer has practically mastered over the years. Whether it’s Velma in Hairspray or Ingris from Maleficent, she’s able to bring both sass and grace to every single role she plays. I feel like she’d be able to give the goddess an incredible amount of layers while still ensuring we hate her at the end of the day.
Jason Momoa as Poseidon
I feel like I don’t have to go very in depth about this one since he seems to be a fandom favorite for this role. He’s able to be laid back but you also know he’d be violent if necessary. And if this post doesn’t convince you, just go watch Aquaman.
Mads Mikkelsen as Hades
I was first introduced to this actor when I watched Hannibal, and may I just say: this man is both terrifying and mesmerizing. For those of you who’ve never seen the show Mikkelsen plays Hannibal Lector, a serial killer and cannibal who falls in love with an investigator named Will who’s tasked with sending Hannibal to prison. Throughout the entire show, you’re not sure if you are afraid of him or in love with him. His very voice is both horrifying yet oddly calming and it always gives you chills. I think he’d be the perfect actor for the King of the Underworld.
Danny DeVito as Mr. D
Another fan favorite, Mr. D is the crabby and alcoholic god of wine who’s forced to look after the children at Camp Half Blood. He’s hilarious, lovable, and a bit of an asshole. These traits basically sum up every single character Danny DeVito has ever played.
Joaquin Phoenix as Ares
Have you seen the oscar winning movie Joker? If you have, than this casting probably isn’t very surprising. Phoenix is able to play characters that, while they seem innocent and kind, are violent and enraged. When looking at him, it makes sense why Percy, Annabeth, and Grover weren’t afraid of him during their first meeting. But, after watching Joker, I can say with absolute certainty that they should be terrified of him. Plus, he’d look awesome in a leather jacket.
That’s all I’ve got for right now. Tell me if you guys want a part 2.
Watched Stardust today. I gotta say, at some point I found myself rooting for the three 'evil' witches.

This obscure film from 1987 is a series of disjointed humorous sketches, and parodies of Midnight hour television and bad movies, brought to you by director John Landis. Watch as Arsenio hall has the worst day of the end of his life. Laugh wildly as Ed Bagley Junior plays the son of the invisible man, who seems a little bit more like the emperor with his new clothes. A funeral, turned to a roast for the recently deceased (featuring Steve Allen, Henny Youngman, Rip Taylor, and other comedy legends),An all too real VHS interactive adult video experience. (featuring Andrew Dice Clay),And a Parody of old PSA black and white films Vaguely similar to “reefer madness” (starring Carrie Fisher) make this quirky cult comedy a must watch just for the cameos alone. #amazonwomenonthemoon #marcmcclure #CarrieFisher #VannaWhite #michellephifer #edbagleyjr #steveguttenberg #rosannaarquette https://www.instagram.com/p/CP2BfweF-S0/?utm_medium=tumblr
