It still feels a bit strange to stand on the other side in sports now. But still it was really nice so far and it's fun. In winter I said that I would be interested in doing something like this and to stay involved in the sport. Then I got a call, asking whether I would be interested in helping out and becoming a technical delegate. (...) I have to carefully think about my professional future now. I could apply for a job in a tax consultant's office and get back to this field. Due to my time in competitive sports I wasn't in the office often and I would have to familiarize myself with the tax issues again. But I learned it and I also studied tax and economic law. So it would be a shame if I couldn't turn this into a career.

A few days ago the modification of the ski flying hill in Oberstdorf started.
Michael Neumayer aspires to be a technical delegate. :) I gotta say, I support this idea veeeeeery much!
Goodbye Michael Neumayer
In my opinion Michael Neumayer will always be one of the most unappreciated jumpers ever. For such a long time he was a big part in the german team, especially when it came to team events. He reached five team medals with seven different team mates by his side. Also he hold the german record for a long time (first 2005-2012: 227,5m, then 2013-2015: 231m). And was 3rd at Four Hills Tournament 2007/08. Yes style marks weren’t his thing, and sadly that cost him an olympic individual medal in 2006, but the way he celebrated a good jump always made me smile. He would have deserved to win at least one time in world cup and I always wished for it (Vikersund 2013...). I will miss this great sports man. Thank you Michi!!!
