Part 1 is mainly about the kids)

It’s the Winter Olympics in your home country : Japan. More specifically, Nagano, Japan.

You’re here with your three girls who are all competing. Your oldest, Yuri who is twenty one, is competing in women’s ski jumping while your twin girls Chihiro and Satsuki are competing in figure skating.

Yuri is representing team Japan while the twins are representing team USA. This obviously causes a lot of drama. People are labeling her a ‘traitor’.

Getting hate from people on the internet affects her self esteem a little bit. Ana Gu, the daughter of Eileen Gu but also her best friend, has her mom talk to her as she was previously in her shoes as a former Olympian representing a different country. It definitely helped because your daughter is on her A game in practice.

It’s early in the morning at the ski hill. As you are one of the coaches for team Japan, you were coaching your daughter but you wait at the bottom as your daughter is doing her last jump before competition.

“How are we feeling about the last one?” You ask as you dig out Yuri’s Velcro ski ties from your coaches puffer jacket. “Good! I feel ready!” Yuri says as she steps out from the bindings from her skis.

She then takes the ski ties from you as you put her skis together before you wrap the Velcro around both of them. “Are they coming?”

By ‘them’ she means Amber and the twins. “Mmm. I don’t know. Mama didn’t know if they would be able to get out of practice in time.”

Amber is one of the coaches of team USA.

“Ojichan and obachan are coming for sure!” Your parents and older brother live a couple of minutes from the hill.

You walk away from Yuri as she sees Ana.

“Cmon, pick up! Pick up!” You anxiously tap your finger against your phone as you try to call your wife.

“Hey, hon.”

“Are y’all coming?”

“Is that Yn-Chan I hear?” Your mother’s voice can be heard in the background.

“Where are you?”

“Obachan made us some food!” One of the twins reply with their mouth full of food.

“Manners! But yeah, we made a pit stop at your parents’ place.” The love of your life replies back.

Shortly after you get off the phone with Amber your older brother finds you with food in clutch. “Ma made these for you and Yuri.” Your brother puts some onigiri into your hand. You immediately open one up from the shrink wrap and take a bite.

“Yooo! Is this fresh unagi?”

“Hai. Dad and ojichan went fishing like a week ago and caught some.”

You put the rest into your fanny pack that you got from a sponsor.

“Where’s my niece?” Your brother asks for your daughter. “Oh, you know my kid. She can’t be away from her best friend.”

Unlike her mother who was a freestyle skier, Ana is in ski jumping but for team USA.

“The gangs all here!” You literally jump into your wife’s arms as she and the twins approach you. “Baby! My body isn’t what it used to be.”

You immediately know she’s lying because at forty something years old she still has a muscle y body type.

“Pssht! Okay Popeye the freakin sailor!” You say sarcastically while you playfully roll your eyes. “Where’s my kiss?” Amber puckers up her lips. You give her a soft kiss before turns into a make out session.

“Oh my gawd, bruhhh! Y’all don’t need to be doing that.” Your oldest motions her hand in circle towards the two of you.

“Uh, number one: who are you calling bruh and number two: it’s been a minute since I’ve seen your mother last.” Amber raises an eyebrow towards Yuri.

“What ever, it’s not like I missed you or anything.” Yuri scratches the back of her neck.

You and Amber give each a look before turning back to your daughter.

“Awww! You missed your mommy!” Ana playfully teases her best friend.

Amber motions her arm out for hug.

“Nooo! Mama, stop!” But it’s too late Amber pulls Yuri in for a tight hug which turns into a big group hug with you and the other girls.

Once all of you pull away Amber looks to Yuri and the twins. “Whatever happens here at the Olympics I want you girls to know that we’re so proud of you no matter what.”

“How are we doing? Nervous? Excited? Both?”

“Both? I’m starting to freak out a little bit.”

“Hey, look at me. You’re Yuri motherfucking Glenn-L/n! You got this! And if you don’t, well, that’s okay! We’ll still go out for Katsudon.

Hearing this, Yuri’s eyes lit up. Just like the main character in Yuri On Ice, her favorite food is also Katsudon.

With that Yuri gathers up her skis and heads toward the chair lift. You follow behind as you have to use the chair lift to get to the coaches platform.

It’s the final round. It’s pretty close between Yuri and Ana for first place. Germany is in second place and then Norway is following close behind in third.

Once the traffic light turns green, you give Yuri the all clear by waving the small Japan flag straight down.

“C’mon! C’mon! Yes!”

You watch your daughter not only do the best ever telemark in her whole career but break the hill record for women.

“There you have it folks! Yuri Glenn-L/n gets the gold for team Japan !”

Ana and the girl from Germany get good scores but it can’t compare to Yuri’s nearly perfect scores.

In the end, Ana gets silver while Germany gets bronze.

“Mooom! You coming down?” Yuri’s voice can be heard through your radio as you sprint full speed attempting to not fumble down the hill.

“Hold on! I’m coming!” You reply back.

By the time you get to Yuri, Ana is snowplowing towards the exit. “Do you have it?” Yuri anxiously yells at you as cameras get into position.

You quickly dig into your pocket to get out a red velvet ring box to check to see that the ring was in there. Once it was, you hand it over to your daughter.

Only having one free hand, Yuri asks for you to open the ring box as she has one of her hands grasped around the pride flag that’s wrapped around her. You comply and watch as she gets onto one knee in front of Ana.

“What’s going…on?” Ana gasps as she finally gets what’s happening.

“Yes! A million times yes!” Ana pulls her now fiancée in for a passionate kiss. “Oh frick! Help me put it on!” Ana motions her hand out.

“Goddamn it, ma can you help me out here?” Yuri asks you just realizing that she has her gloves on still. You both help them out by taking them off and holding them.

Yuri has shaky fingers as she puts it onto Ana’s ring finger. It fits perfectly.

“I love you so fucking much!” It’s loud enough for both you and Ana to hear. This makes you smile.

“Kanpai!” You clink your glass with the others as you celebrate at some local restaurant.

You watch as your daughter and now future daughter in law, scarf down their Katsudon bowls.

“Careful, y’all still have another competition!” You tease not wanting them to choke over their lunch.

“How does it feel to be engaged?” You ask, not exactly being specific on who you were directing the question to.

“Mmm… I still can’t believe it! If it wasn’t going to be Yuri I definitely would’ve put a ring on it.” Ana playfully flips her hair.

“How did you propose to mama?” Yuri asks you but you just shake your head. “Believe it or not it was actually your mama who proposed to me.”
