My only complaint about The Man From Uncle (tv) is that the camera cuts away every time Napoleon and Illya are about to start making out.

Mr Glow-in-the-dark Hair
60s lighting has me in a chokehold right now, they sure knew how to do colour
i like to think that illya plays up his tolerance for cold occasionally just to piss off napoleon
Another of my old manips. This one shows Illya and Napoleon passing the time between the end of a mission and the flight home.

Please look at this muncle comic my stepdad got me for Christmas
"...After all, you did say you like blondes." // 1x28 // Illya Kuryakin x Napoleon Solo [16/∞]
There are multiple interesting contrasts between Mission: Impossible and The Man From UNCLE but by far the funniest one is the difference in degrees of competency in our main characters. The Impossible Mission Force enters a job with a thorough, intricate plan and they are precise with carrying out and whenever their is a slight hitch it is incredibly suspenseful and makes you feel like everything could fall apart due to an infinitesimal slip. Meanwhile Napoleon and Illya perform missions with the accuracy and subtlety of a sledgehammer and get captured at least twice an episode and only manage to stumble their way to success because THRUSH happens to be slightly less able to do their jobs
Of course this is the result of the varying level of seriousness with which both shows take themselves. Man From UNCLE, especially as the series progresses, is tongue-in-cheek, it's camp, it's unserious, so while the characters experience more violence and danger, it's cartoon violence and the danger doesn't register as concerning to the audience because of how silly the conditions of it are. Mission: Impossible is grounded, so the dangers feel real, and since the characters are often depicted as having most, if not all, control in a situation, when that control slips even slightly; you feel like they might actually die in a way you don't when watching MFU
So their approaches to missions make sense for the narratives they're in. Like, I think Illya and Napoleon trying to do their job under Mission: Impossible logic wouldn't make it two days before they're dead in a ditch somewhere, but! equally I think the IMF would react to the chaos of the MFU world like a person sitting passenger in a vehicle driven by a maniac who's about to veer off the road, gripping the car handle for dear life
Both make for very entertaining TV btw
