MoMA Friends 12-month Internship in the Museum's Department of Painting and Sculpture: September 2018-19

Aimed at diversifying the institution and helping students historically underrepresented in the visual and cultural arts, this position is open to outstanding graduate students, or recent graduates looking to gain experience and knowledge within the field of Painting and Sculpture. Department of Painting and Sculpture Internship
September 11, 2018–September 7, 2019
Description: The intern Works across this curatorial department, assisting with a wide range of projects, from researching works in the Museum’s collection to helping to organize upcoming exhibitions. Performs general administrative tasks for the department and may also participate in facilitating the acquisitions process and in the planning of gallery changes.

Required Commitment
Full-time (Monday–Friday, 9:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.)
Eligibility
Recent graduates of bachelor’s or master’s degree programs. The Museum encourages applications from members of historically underrepresented groups in the curatorial and museum profession, including art history students who are members of racial and/or ethnic minority groups, are differently abled, or are from disadvantaged socioeconomic backgrounds.
Stipend
$32,000 stipend (gross), subject to applicable tax withholdings. Health benefits, two weeks paid vacation, and an additional $2,000 to cover travel expenses for an approved research trip related to the intern’s field of interest.
