Trains in Miraculous Ladybug - The Chibi Metro
Part 1: The Metro Train
Part 2: The Metro Station
Part 3: Startrain
Part 4: The Gare du Nord
Part 5: The Bus
Part 6: The Season 6 Tram
This series is a mess, there are at least two Tumblr posts that I need to insert into retroactively. But it is apparently my life, so let's continue.
We got a new episode of Miraculous Chibi today!
I'm gonna be honest with you: I'm not the biggest fan of Miraculous Chibi. It's a bit too silly and childish for me and this skit is no exception. But to each their own, I'm not the target audience. Except for the part where they show the Metro in Chibi-land.
First, we have a metro entry in the Hector Guimard style, specifically the version without roof that is still very common in the city.
It's obviously very simplified but it gets the idea across.
Inside we see the station and a train.
The station with its arched design, seating benches, vending machines and blue sign looks pretty good. They even included the display that shows when the next train is due to come, although it's not recognisable as such since all of the text is rendered deliberately unreadable.
The train is a very free interpretation, but with some creativity and good will we can read it as an MF 01 train.
Two headlights stacked vertically on either side, orange destination display, black mask, single big windows between the double doors… yes, I know it's a bit of a stretch, but I think it works out.
The MF 01 the newest currently in use on the conventional lines, though a newer model is currently undergoing testing. This makes it the first time a conventional train, as opposed to a rubber-tired one, is shown in Miraculous Ladybug.
The interior, to the degree that there is any, has more seats than the real thing (which has 2+1 seating arrangement as opposed to the 2+2 seen here), but that counts as a minor detail in an episode where Chat Noir tries to get a ball of ice cream that a horse has already eaten.
I'd say it qualifies as passable but not really great, and if that doesn't describe Miraculous Chibi I don't know what does.
