Bloodlines and Magick. Fuerza.

It was the closing party of the show at Art on A tonight and I was representing in a knit sweater of Micheal Roman stencils I’d bought when I was 19 and a cleaning girl in a cathouse. It was November, the weather took a turn for the worse, and the sweater was in the window of a disarrayed shop with piles and racks of clothing for sale.

Then there was a raid and I no longer had that kind of disposable cash on hand. But flash forward to years later and Johnny V. has me participating in group shows  with this legendary underground artist, who’s work was part of a certain subculture’s psychic and physical landscape. And then just like that, a day ago we learned he’d passed.
