A lot of people try to Curl the heaviest weight as possible, and that’s fine, DO YOU, but the bicep curl isn’t just focused on the concentric (Upward Curling motion), you have to also focus on the eccentric (Downward extending bicep motion). Focusing on the eccentric or the negative portion of the bicep curl brings on more stress to the bicep, causing more blood to flow to the bicep, in return you receive a better pump. You can hold a Barbell in the upward position forever, but try holding the downward position for a long time and see how much your bicep is getting stressed.
