Jeff’s Gourmet Sausage Factory, 8930 W Pico Blvd, Los Angeles (Beverlywood), CA 90035
Based on the name alone, I knew that I had to try Jeff’s. Yes, the sausages are made in house daily (since 1999) and it’s all kosher. The menu goes beyond gourmet sausages to include wraps, burgers, hot sandwiches, salads, fries, sides, housemade ice cream, etc. They’re known for their pastrami. You can buy just the meats if you want.
A table was set up outside to take orders. You can also use the kiosk to place your own order.
Spicy beef and lamb merguez sausage ($11.25) with harissa mayo and herb lemon pickled red onions on a bun. The sausage was grilled. The bun didn’t have sesame seeds. It was soft and slightly sweet – a good bun but not amazing. The grilled sausage was flavorful and juicy but a tad too salty. I like pickled onions but found the overall sausage on a bun to be a little plain though flavorful. They included extra sauces but I’m not sure why since the sauces weren’t the ones used on the sausage bun (harissa mayo and zhoug).
Outdoor sidewalk seating only. Cash is not accepted. Jeff's is served at Dodger Stadium.
