The conclusion drawn is reader would either be a damselfish or a fairywrasse because both of those names are far too fitting and I laughed very hard about it (plus they're both very pretty!)

The first idea my brain even gave me for Mer Beau was blue ring octopus. Ultra deadly with your typical octopus grabbiness. More importantly, tiny. Itty bitty. Can probably ride his partners. (Be it Grisham, reader, or otherwise).
