divine warriors loredump!
so yeah, the divine warriors! admittedly, i'm fascinated by them - i rlly rlly wish that we'd gotten to see more of them + their powers/domains/abilities in mcd, especially considering that they're a driving force behind the plot. so, i've gone ahead and done some redesigns for the sigils (above) and expanded on the domains and abilities of the divine warriors within the context of ashes, ashes.
more under the cut!
Bro, what's your Menphia lore? Very interested :D
So I have.... A LOT in regards to her because I believe that Katelyn is a match for her relic and I love Katelyn. So I am going to do some tidbits
Menphia in my lore is a meif'wa, a lioness to be precise, but in Ru'aun she was believed to be a human. Despite the fact that Esmund was the only true human amongst the group, history was rewritten to erase any monster or beast heritage amongst the group. It is actually why there is very little interaction between those of Menphia's faith and those of Irenes faith, because they keep arguing over the fact that the Divine Warriors weren't humans. (Doesn't help that the humans burned the accurate paintings of the Divine in Ru'aun to hide Irene and Shad's relationship)
Another thing about Menphia is that she does have a biological lineage despite never giving birth, for she comes from an all women village of meif'wa in southern Tu'la, and is actually the origin of the amulet that got KiKi pregnant. After coming back to Tu'la after settling the civil war between North and South, she settled down with the love of her life, Juliet of the Golden Sun. A priestess of the sun goddess/creator of meif'wa, and had children through the amulet, ones who would eventually become the Southern Royal Family.
As time passed, Menphia was eventually fused with the Sun Goddess, with many temples dedicated to worshipping the sun goddess being transformed to worship Menphia as well. While some worship both "dieties" separately, many combine the practice with the belief that Menphia the Fury was the embodiment of the Sun Goddess during her time on earth.
Despite having descendants, Menphia's relic does not automatically go to her descendants. As well as being the Divine Warrior of Fury, she was also the Divine Warrior of Justice, so her relic fuses with those who are her true reincarnation and those who are the most worthy. You can't nepotism this relic essentially. But even then, it does often go to her descendants as they more often than not are raised under Menphia's principles. Kind of a 50% chance rather than the others 80% chance of going to a descendant.
Menphia used fire magic and got her title "The Fury" not because of her temperament, but due to the fact she was known to be lit ablaze while fighting. And that is fucking terrifying.
I DON'T HAVE A PROPER ARTSET UP RN SORRY--
So i did some hairstyle sketches on enki, esmund and menphia for the past (esmund may change alittle later on if i get a better vision of his hair in my head, may have to look at other hair again)
Menphias hair length is a big thing btw, it being short in the beginning is important when it comes to it getting longer over time with her spending more time with Irene and with how her hair BEING her helmet
Okay so you mentioned wanting Menphia to have some form of relation to pyrokinesis and I also have the same idea so I am going to give you my reasons/abilities as like an idea/to use if ya want
- Menphia was never one for subtly and always burned with passion, literally and metaphorically. She was very much a spitfire with words that can hurt way more than her fists.
- It creates a good balance to Shad. She and anyone of her Divine Relic users would have an immunity to fire, making them the perfect warrior.
- With the exception of Zane and Aaron, a body is needed to make a shadow night and one way to prevent a corpse from being used supernaturally is to burn it to Ash.
- It is sick as hell
- Katelyn the Fire Fist should have fire magic and I stand by it.
o ya katelyn def has fire magick!! i like to think that, because it burns blue (aka super hot) she tends to not use it unless necessary bc it poses a serious risk to the health of both her allies and herself (this changes after she gets menphia's relic and can no longer be harmed by fire). tysm for the input!!

I came to a realization about My Inner Demons the aphmau series.
the daemos + ava? theyre the divine warriors from mcd. theres six of them and ok hear me out. Ava is irene obviously. Rhys is Enki (the keeper), Pierce is Esmund (the protector), Asch is either Shad (the destroyer, opposite to irene) or Menphia (the fury). Noi and Leif could go either way, they could each be Kulzac (the wanderer), but Leif could also be Shad. 👍
stars from this post :) so many of them reminded me of the divine warriors, so here they are!
the middle three - shad, menphia, and kul'zak - are all the same scene.
menphiaaa
