#melancholy?

okay, overall: I thought it was a good episode, and a good resolution to the bobby dying arc, and I loved captain han, and I loved athena holding that baby.

emotionally: I'm kind of sad nothing in that episode made me want to write more fic. maybe my feelings will change over the course of the hiatus, but the end of s7 made me feel like I had a MILLION ideas about what could happen next, and I'm disappointed I don't feel inspired again. probably that's me expecting too much of the show—I've been feeling creatively/personally burnt out for a hot minute now, and fandom tends to be my jolt of adrenaline and joy and obsession that galvanizes me into being creative anyway—only sometimes even your special interest can't really save you from being burnt out, because the problem is that you're tired and you need to sleep and read five to six good novels before the well starts to refill. maybe i'll take the hiatus and read five to six good novels and watch a new tv show and stop reading all the bad takes and i'll come back in the fall and be really excited to see evan buckley again.

(is this a sign????? did i, like...hit my personal limit? i've never written thirty fics for a fandom before, lol)
