I made a tome which my friends have taken to calling the blood book on account of some incidents when making it. I pretty much exclusively use gothic-medieval bookinding techniques because I love the look and feel.
Oak boards, cotton rope and butchers' twine, chrome-tanned goat leather, and a single roll of banner paper for the text block. I used PVA for the structural gluing, and wheat paste to attach the leather.

Okay, but in the movie "The Physician" when Rob is like "This is the most beautiful thing I've...*looks at Rebecca and is awestruck* seen" while holding a BEAUTIFUL COPY OF 1,001 NIGHTS I would've been like "The book. The book is hella beautiful. Have you seen such calligraphy? The illustrations? Fuck! The cover? Take me now! Shiiit the binding method? Yeeesssss!!"
