I don't mean romantic love, falling head over heels for one person. No, that's too specific, too individual to describe this feeling.

Do you ever remember that the very first humans made flutes, spent hours making and learning to play and playing a musical instrument? That they put the same time and effort into it that you put into learning a new skill? That you're not alone?

Do you ever remeber that the people you see every day at the bus stop, at work, on your way home, at each and every restataunt you pass, they have favorite foods. They have a favorite cup. A favorite drink to make it in?

All humanity has these little rituals we do every day, be it around a morning cup of coffee, spending however long making and drinking tea and chatting with friends. We all eat, we all drink, we all yearn for connection.

Somewhere out there are people you have never met who have a way of living that you will never have the pleasure of learning. Their own rythyms and habits and loves and hates and desires and annoyances.

We are all just a small drop in the ocean of humanity that has ever existed and will ever exist.

Do you ever stop and think about how beautiful that is?

If you havent, take a moment, be still, think about all the people who had to consistently learn and rewrite the english language just for you to be able to have learned it and know it well enough to read this.

think about all the stories that have been told in languages you will never know.

Can't you see the beauty in that?

Can you see the hope?

Can you see the good things in the world that make life worth living?

Because I can.
