Hi!!!! heres my critique/ramble

the magic system is fantastic, got that like, relatively simple and understandable appeal, but also every aspect of it is explored very thoroughly in a way i enjoyed! the variety of magic circles and the almost scientific element of the process is fascinating, as well as the wide variety of ways this magic is utilised and depicted in setting! which is sick as hell!

i liked coco and the other student witches theyre all very fun! and make a pleasant dynamic, especially as the plot has been gettin more serious further in, i particularly enjoy them working together for numerous problems its sweet

qifrey is nice and i like his haunting sadness with how the silverwood works its a good beat! hope that boy gets surgery

only beef is, i feel like the primary conflict is a little constructed out of setting? the brimhats have a coherent point but they spend all of their time being evil in a manner that entirely undercuts their apparent political motivations

and the way that the uhhh Pact is constructed to deny all forms of magic performed on people, banning all doctors from becoming witches, and specifically hiding the possibility of people training to become witches feels arbitrary (but i suspect that is the point)

my final critique critique is that all of this pact infrastructure appears designed to ensure that witches maintain power over the unknowing, but basically every witch in setting appears to be driven by exclusively altruism, and a desire to help the unknowing, so why do all of this shit if we're not even using it for power

like the arbitrariness of the pact would make more sense in a setting where the witches do in fact suck, so its being used as a means to deny power, but they dont! theyre chill about things! so what's the deeeaaaallll, not even the top top witches seem to like the pact yknow?
