how I take notes in notion
disclaimer: I don't usually use notion for note-taking since in medicine, the content for 1 lecture could take up to as long as 21 pages (lecture + book) so notion is not ideal for it. however, since I'm advance studying for august 2, the start of our second year (I know, god help us >.<), notion is a reliable place to store the information I'm taking in where it's always accessible and organized.
so right now, I have a free trial of pathoma videos that I'm going through one by one and I'm using notion for that.
here is what it looks like! I do split screen and just copy the slides and Dr. Sattar's high-yield additional information on the page. I screenshot the lab slide (on the right, a pic of acute inflammation showing neutrophils and edema in interstitial space) and drag the photo to notion.
this helps me prep for step 1 as well (if I'm ever going to have the strength to take the exam next year) and for my classes as I have mentioned! those high-yield information that he mentions-- I highlight in red so I know it's a MUST-KNOW, which is v important in studying an overwhelming amount of topics.
a downside of notion is I cannot compress my notes in 2-3 pages like I would have using MS word, and there isn't much design to choose over and use when inputing a lot of info but hey, at least I have notes that I know I will look back in due time. :)
I will, perhaps, do a more extensive post on how I do note-taking with MS word but for now, here it is. :)
some shortcuts I use:
/toggle - to include a drop down menu
/background - to highlight
/color - to change the color of the text
/bulleted list - for bullet points
midterms series | day 1
my first exam this week went well. got a fairly high score on the subject. i got only 5 hours of sleep (which was already more than enough) but instead of sleeping after the exam, i cleaned the apartment, cooked brunch, and showered. it felt good, you know? everything we make little decisions that make up who we are as a person (getting sentimental because it's almost midnight from where i am! haha).
first photo is when i was cleaning and my dog won't move from her spot so it took awhile before i finally lured her out of her spot so i can clean it with her meat jerky treat. i studied after until 430, and then realized i was getting hungry so i made ramen (3rd photo). i'm also going out of my comfort zone (blackpink and red velvet) by listening to BTS!! around 530pm, i took my dog to the rooftop to get some fresh air. when we got back i immediately fell asleep because i was tired from studying the whole day.
now i'm 6/9 done with the topics i have to study for tomorrow!! hoping i get a great score both on theoretical and practical exam. *cross fingers* 3 more topics to go!! we got this. :)
