People keep thinking that Dark is composed of three souls. And while technically that is true. Dark is dark. He’s not just Damien, Celine, and Y/N working together to control one body. Hell, who knows. Maybe Y/N didn’t enter Dark, but was realised from the body. If we still go on the we are Chica idea from ADWM, it could actually be US from WKM inhabiting the body of a dog. Partially becoming a part of Chica and protecting our mark.
And that just leaves Celine and Damien. They became one person. And sure, Dark may fragment slightly as his anger erupts in an inner argument with himself. But that’s it. Himself. He has both their memories, both their anger, both their feelings of betrayal and desire for revenge among other tics, but Dark is himself and only himself. Maybe if something occurred to really make it to where two souls had to pilot one body for Dark we’d see Damien and Celine for real as individuals. But Dark is a combination of them. A person - while leaning a bit on Damien’s identity with his appearance and etc - in it of himself.
Dark knowing both the lives two people he was made from….but knows he’s neither of them. That he has seen William/Wilfred go from Damien’s childhood friend and Celine’s lover to the madman he is today but is unable to make that connection to comfort or even truly connect with the broken man. That he should not exist if not for the tragedy.
That’s why, no matter what Mark he meets unless it is an ego, he wants revenge. On. Every. Single. One.
