And wkm in general doesn't put a big emphasis on even making clear what time period it's trying to display. Headcanons in the fandom vary from early 1920s to mid 1930s.

I headcanon that it takes places in the early 1920s. Beginnjng of the roaring twenties.

A short summary on the clothes analysis:

Abe and William both show up in their work attire, fairly obviously. They think it's just a casual get-together. The fancy invite is simply Mark being eccentric. Can't comment on the accuracy of Williams clothes. They look british. Which.. yeah. Did a whole thing on that. Low budget, what can I ssy.

Mark's robe? You can't tell me that he didn't just wake up from a depression nap an hour prior to the others arriving. Especially compared to his attire in DAMIEN. He doesn't even bother getting dressed properly.

WHILE DAMIENS SUIT IS A TAILCOAT AWAY FROM BEING CONSIDERED WHITE TIE. Seriously. I'm blaming the missing tailcoat on the budget, because every other aspect aligns with 1920s white tie attire.

You can't even excuse that as being his work clothes!! He's wearing white tie attire in the early 1920s. Not anywhere close to what he'd wear as a politician. The style he's wearing is going out of style at that time, only people at least middle aged still wear it!

He's so out of place among the other ghree in terms of clothes. He's the only one in wkm who has a "normal" grief response. Everybody knows to some degree that something is going on, except for Damien. His entire attire, demeanor and his lack of knowledge indicate how he is distancing and has purposefully distanced himself in the past. In wkm he keeps himself at a distance until Mark actually dies, where his emotions to some degree take over.

Which for me puts Actor's "acting like you're the only one without blood on your hands" in DAMIEN a bit into perspective.

He keeps himself at a distance because as mayor he has to! Also emotionally he's just horribly repressed. His emotions are a case of "all or nothing". He's really interesting.

No worries! I love it. I don't know much about clothing history, but it's always been super interesting to me. I know more about science/medicinal history.

Okay but is it me or has Mark's Warfstache accent gotten significantly more British since WKM? It's been bothering me for a long time lol but I've never seen it pointed out. IMO William dresses like a British man going on a stereotypical African safari.

The party had hours ago faded from a roar to a trickle, then, finally, to the four of them, lounging around the living room, soaking up the dregs of alcohol and lingering cigarette smoke.

“Is it time for bed yet?” Damien muttered for the third time in as many hours, eyelids fluttering like he was fighting to stay awake. From his sprawling position on the chaise across the room, Mark lifted his glass of wine in salute, then knocked it back in a few swallows.

“You all need to shut up,” was William’s input. He lay on his stomach on the couch with Damien, his face buried in his friend’s thigh. “Sleep.”

“No- no sleeping.” Celine reached up from her spot on the floor and prodded at William’s ribs, earning a muffled grunt. She took a long drag from her cigarette, the ember flaring in the fading light of the gas lamps. “We said- we said-”

“Right!” Mark went to get up, but instead fell off the chaise. “We gotta get the Ouija board. Gotta summon a ghost.”

“Bully that.” William waved a drunken hand. “Tomorrow.”

Celine scoffed. “It’s already tomorrow.”

“Celine.” Damien insisted, while the crimson-robed lump that was Mark began to snore. “I’m still- I’m still smashed. Tomorrow.”

He adjusted the ties. Adjusted them again so they settled at the hollow of his throat. Made sure the knot was nice and tight, and that the fabric settled in the right way over his shoulders. Studied himself in the mirror, the way his gelled-back hair shone under the lamplight. Frowned. Popped his fake vampire teeth in and bared them. Took them out. Rinsed. Repeated

He was so mired in this ritual that he missed the heavy footsteps coming up the stairs. Jumped a mile when a knock came at the door. 

“Dames?” William’s voice filtered through the thick wood of the guest room door. “Are you ready? The party’s starting.”

“I’ll be right down,” Damien answered absently, but the creaking of the door as it opened informed him William hadn’t taken his answer to heart. He turned, and a surprised laugh burst from his mouth at the sight.

William was dressed as Mark, right down to the red, satiny robe and white ascot. If not for his glasses and mustache, he’d be a spitting image. Brother echoed brother, after all.

“Bully!” He exclaimed, his voice too big for the small room, for the music drifting up the stairs. “A vampire. I should have thought of that.”

Damien mustered up a smile, even as his stomach flipped. “It needs something else, though. I can’t think of what.”

William crossed the room. Looked him up and down in a way that made Damien’s face flush. Then, he snapped his fingers. “I’ve got just the thing! Wait right here.”

He spun on one slippered foot and disappeared. Moments later Damien heard the sound of the next door guest room opening, and frowned as he pondered why on earth William would be rummaging through Celine’s things.

Then, he was back, triumphantly boasting an eyeliner pencil. He was up in Damien’s face before the mayor could say a word about it, his calloused fingers gentle as he touched Damien’s jaw, tilting his face this way and that so as to apply a thick ring of makeup below each eye.

“There!” William’s breath smelled like expensive wine. He stepped back, grinned, placed a hand on Damien’s shoulder and steered him back toward the mirror. “It’s perfect. Take a look.”

Damien murmured assent and glanced toward the mirror, but what he was really looking at was William looking at him, his pretty dark eyes glittering.

So back in 2022, there was a popular post that had people imagine what a Muppets version of something they enjoyed would be like. At the time, I had decided that a Muppets version of Who Killed Markiplier would be fantastic, but I didn't really have the skills to properly share stuff. I've been using the old sketchbook as a temporary replacement, found the sketch, and I got inspired. So I present to you:

Who Killed Markiplier, Muppets Edition.

I have a photo of what I envision the cast to look like (both the 2020 original and the version made today), along with notes for my choices, under the read-more. I decided against using well-known Muppet characters since I wanted the fun of creating looks.
