@mculadiesweek 2018 | Day 2 | Unsung Hero
Be it easing Thor’s anxiety before his coronation, beseeching Odin to end his banishment or asking Sif abt his well being, Frigga has always been there for him, even though he may not know it at times.
She was the one who made Jane feel welcome in Asgard. She went out to fight Malekith like the lioness she is to protect her as well. She didn’t think twice before sacrificing herself to save the person her son loved.
Frigga Allmother - a fearless warrior and an equally kind and loving mother and queen!

MCU Ladies Week | Day 3: Favorite Scene | ...lots of AIDA/Ophelia moments, collectively
Do you know how degrading it is to be kept in a closet?
I’m cheating today but I don’t care. I just want a place to rave about Mallory Jansen’s performance(s), because almost every scene she touched turned to gold, and even when they didn’t she was still gold. Over the course of one (1) season of Agents of SHIELD, she played three different characters, two of whom had multiple distinctly separate iterations, and the whole time she was terrifying and fascinating to watch. I in no way support the role she played in the Framework or choices she made therein, but even in that timeframe she was fascinatingly messed up, the ideal antagonist who still dropped some excellent lines. (See above.) I’m primarily mourning the loss of eerie perky efficient superrobot AIDA, though, because, well. She was a very good robot and I would have liked to watch her try to learn to be a real girl without going insane and murdering people. Alas.
MCU LADIES WEEK 2018: Day 5
My favorite relationship? Do y’all really need to ask?
2/3rds of my OT3, but I also just love their friendship, the tiny amount that we saw of it. I’m hoping that if Laura’s in another movie they’ll get a scene together again!

@mculadiesweek | Day 4 | Actor Appreciation | Hayley Atwell
I originally had trouble figuring out who to do for this day, since I tend to know more about the characters than the actresses themselves. However, I eventually decided on Hayley Atwell not only because she plays one of my favorite women in the MCU, Peggy Carter, but because she’s the only cast member I’ve actually met!
I saw her a few years ago when she came to the Calgary Comic Expo. I had only a few hours to spend there since I had a final exam that day, but I happily spent most of my time in line to meet her. I was starstruck to see her up close! She was so gracious and told us she was impressed by “how polite you all are in Canada.” We even got a signed photograph from her addressed to our whole family! I hope that I’ll be able to meet more Marvel actresses sometime.
MCU Ladies Week
[Day 5-Favourite Relationship] Melinda May and Daisy Johnson
These are my two favourite ladies on Agents of SHIELD, and also my favourite relationship. I love both of these women separately, because they are incredible people, but together they are everything I have ever wanted in a friendship between two women. But more than that, May and Daisy are family, they have been through a lot together, but they would protect each other to the ends of the earth. This is something we see all too rarely in relationships between women in various mediums, which is honestly such a shame. We’ve seen this relationship progress so much, as May and Daisy seemingly wanted nothing to do with each other at the beginning, but quickly grew to respect and care for each other. Time and time again they have fought beside each other, and May in particular has protected Daisy in several instances. Unfortunately, there has been very few May x Daisy moments lately on Agents of SHIELD, but I sincerely hope that we will have plenty in the near future once Radcliffe and the various LMDs are defeated.
What I love about these two ladies is that on the surface they appear to be quite different, but it is not until you actually look beneath the surface, until you really get to know them that they are perhaps not so different in reality. Back in season 1, Coulson compares both May and Daisy, suggesting that May was more like Daisy before Bahrain, and we have seen evidence of this in flashbacks now. I would absolutely love for May and Daisy to come to know each other more fully, to understand each other to the extent that we do and see their similarities. Either way, for now they are the perfect support for each other, the perfect family, for all of their own faults and assumptions about each other. The moments between them are all too fleeting, and yet the significance of their friendship is clear as they develop together.
