   It’s moments like these Pi regrets putting comfort over secrecy, hands come up to cover up his incisions the best he can as he watches the stranger. Frightened and ready to bolt and hide somewhere else in the rickety house he currently called refuge.

   Howl watched the intruder with a gentle demeanor as he invaded his space, while he had the underlying stress of keeping the castle’s other inhabitants safe, that would not deter Howl from acting with that air of calm he brought everywhere with him. “Won’t you stay with me, my darling?” the knife in the killer’s hands is carefully plucked out of them, looking less menacing and more like the ordinary kitchen knife it was meant to be.
