Author's note: im fatherless so idfk of dads are actually like this but i lwk dgaf (ts has been in my drafts since August PLEASE like it)
Dad-daughter dates. Despite his extended time on the Overworld, Entity 303 surprisingly had almost never heard of those. Free time where a father and his child could go somewhere together, do something together or just be with the other unfortunately just couldn't take place in his life, the invertebrate reptile that is Herobrine being one of the factors why.
Herobrine.
Oh, how he wanted to smash his rotten face in, stab him with a screwdriver, punch him so hard he-
"Dad, look!"
Oh yeah. Dad-daughter dates. He was on one right now.
Psycho Girl chimed out, pulling Entity 303 towards a small area of the store they were in, a table with black tablecloth adorning over it and under what seemed to be over tens of keychains. Various little... Things, whatever they were (cartoons, he thought, along with many other things) sprawled across the table, illuminated by the yellowish fluorescent lights of the store.
The half-glitch woman picked one of them up, her teal eyes examining a keychain of a jellyfish "Aren't they cute?" She coos, handing it to Entity 303 for him to take a look at it as well.
Entity 303 took the miniature figure of a lavender jellyfish in his clawed hand examinaring it further. He didn't say anything yet, he didn't need to, just a small tilt of his head and widening of his eyes gave away his aproval for it.
"Oh my gosh, we should totally get matching ones!-" Psycho girl declared confidently, not really concidering giving Entity 303 a chance to decline, while scavenging the rows of shrunken down cartoon characters, animals, objects and beaded chains for something that would conform to both of their likes.
"... Matching?" He inquired
"Yeah, matching."
Entity 303 didn't question further, he simply put the jellyfish keychain down where it belonged and let Psycho Girl continue her search.
She let out a soft gasp when her sight landed on the ones. She grabbed a pair of identical miniature grey swords with a small red rhinestone in the middle of the ricasso and the cross guard met and lifted them up for her father to see. It looked like her grin couldn't get any bigger "how about these?"
Entity 303's voice didn't materialize itself for a moment, he only took one of the swords to further inspect it. He carefully noted every small detail of the artefact, admiring all the minute articles of an object was jusy who he was as a person: atentive, punctilious and am astute observer.
"I wasn't aware miniature daggers were concidered practical for battle now..." He answered after he was done meticulously glaring at the keychain
"Dad, they're not for fighting," Psycho Girl teased back "These are just for... Decoration, i guess, yeah, decoration."
That recived another head tilt from him as he glanced back and forth from Psycho Girl and the keychain, "Decoration..." He echoed "I like them."
"Alright!" Psycho Girl beamed happily, earning the slightest upturn of Entity 303's lips.
The second Psycho Girl tried to reach for her wallet Entity 303 immediately intervened. It was the least he could do after she was the one to suggest they come here in the first place right?
"I'll pay."
"Oh, c'mon it was my idea wasn't it?"
"It's my pleasure."
"It's my choice to, dad."
"I insist."
"I've got more than enough money for it-"
They continued their back and forth for a short while until they were interrupted. "Hello, are you two in need of any help?" a friendly store helper chimed in, unintentionally breaking up their despute
The pair was initially startled by the assistant's sudden appearance, so caught up in their friendly argument to notice anyone getting close, "Uhm, no thank you," Psycho Girl politely declined and sent the worker on her way.
Entity waited the employee to leave and descreetly looked around for any witnesses, "Y'know how neither of us don't have to put in the money?" before Psycho girl could protest, Entity 303 reached for her arm while a sphere of red magic surrounded them.
Everything went red for what seemed like a split nanosecond. Psycho Girl blinked and next thing she knew was that they were in the opposite wing of the mall. She huffed out a short laugh "Wait, what? Did you-" her brain shortcircuites before she could string together a proper accusation "What did you do?"
"You didn't pay, I'm happy, i didn't pay, you're happy. Now we're both happy" Entity 303 simply leaves it at that, hooking Psycho Girl's arm with his own as a warm act of chivalry as they walked aimlessly.
"Oh you're such liar, dad, such a dishonest man" She teased, laughing "Such a liar and a cheat" A part of Psycho Girl knew that money would end up in that store's cash register by night sooner or later, left by her or Entity 303, so she let it slide.
"Aren't we all at one point?" He expressed, feeling an unfamiliar yet pleasant happiness boil in his chest as his daughter laid her head on his shoulder.
It surprisingly didn't take long for the bright blue of the afternoon sky to turn into yellowish and pinkish hues, with a shade of purple rising in at the bottom of the horizon as the sun set for the night. Now Entity 303 and Psycho Girl were resting apon a hill looking over their village.
Psycho Girl looked up from her seat in the dewy grass to catch a glimpse of her father, who had his hands on his hips while staring blankly at the sun, "You look like you're watching a football game right now"
There wasn't much of a reaction from him, just a brief glance down at Psycho Girl and a small upturn of his lips, this one was more noticeable than usual though.
Another few moments of comfortable silence filled their space until it was broken by Entity 303 "... It's getting late. You should head home now."
"... I guess. What about you though?" Psycho Girl stood up from place in the grass, her view stayed on the scenery, the sky taking a darker hue of blue at the bottom as the day got darker.
"I'll get there soon enough, I'll stay out here for a bit... I'd tell you to stay safe on the way home, but we both know anyone that tries anything should be more scared of you"
Psycho Girl laughed a bit, her ego getting boosted a slight bit "Hah, damn right they should!" She paused her snickering, her voice getting quieter "Alright, see ya, dad."
"See you then, my dear." Entity 303 quietly dismissed her with a glance and a slight nod, returning his view at the sunset once Psycho Girl turned heel, walking down the hill and towards their village.
Once Psycho Girl was out of sight, safe and sound in their house with her mother and sister waiting for her, Entity 303 took out the sword keychain from his pocket. He dangled it in front himself, taking another moment to examine the etchwork, engravings and details that he had grown quite fond of already before clasping it in his hand and folding his arms behind his back with a happy sigh.
Oh, how he loved being a dad.
