There are always chores that need to be done in a village, regardless of profession. One of which is morning duty.
Members of a village are rotated on morning patrols, where they scare off night creatures lingering in the fields, usually disorientated spiders and phantoms, or creepers trying to hunker down in the crops. More info below.
They also have the unpleasant job of cleaning up the smoldering remains of zombies and skeletons. It’s a crucial time for reporting any damage to houses, fences or golems, and any strange activity, such as missing livestock and crops. The culprits are usually benign: wild animals or misbehaving teenagers, but occasionally stranger things occur. Items and materials nonsensically relocated by Endermen, or even rarer, animals picked clean until they are merely a pile of bones and inedible parts.
This phenomenon is attributed to a vast array of folkloric monsters from village to village, but the real root are typically starving and injured players desperate enough to risk the ire of an iron golem. They need to consume large amounts of protein to regenerate severe wounds, and will enter a lethargic, trance-like state in order to conserve energy while they seek out food, impairing their judgement. They may otherwise attempt to eat inedible materials, like flour, dirt and hay, particularly if they have only spawned recently and are still in their infantile stage.
Villagers on patrol often wear brightly coloured clothing so they’re easy to spot in the fields.

do you think in minecraft people would say "when in the nether" instead of "when in rome" to mean following the customs of the place you're in. because in the nether you have to wear gold even though you don't really understand why
minecraft “lore” idea: what if the villagers have last names based on their careers (i.e a librarian’s last name could be “Bookkeeper”). When Steve meets the villagers he decides he ought to have a last name, and following the villager custom of a last name being based on what you do, he calls himself Steve Minecraft.

How the Knocker handles affection
AAAH HI YESS HELLO I LOVE THE KNOCKER HES MY BBG TRUST… AND ILY 2!!! I can definitely do your request, I’ve had SO many ideas about this and I was feeling inspired so I decided to do both :3
PAIRING: The Knocker x GN!Reader
CONTENTS: Headcanons, short oneshot
WARNINGS: None, just fluff! (I haven’t actually written a oneshot in a while so if my writing’s a bit rusty forgive me…)
🗝️ One of the main ways the Knocker shows his love is simply through admiring you from a distance. God, he just adores everything about you, Knocker could (and probably has) spent hours watching you go about your daily life.
🗝️ He’s very protective as well. You might not notice it at first, but monsters would begin avoiding you. Long walks home in the middle of the night, mining trips deep underground, no matter how dark no mobs would approach… and the ones that try don’t make it far.
🗝️ Knocker also loves to bring you a variety of different gifts. Bones, flowers, useful items, etc. it all depends on what you like.
🗝️ When it comes to things like physical affection, I think you’d be the one initiating most of it. It’s not that he doesn’t enjoy it, because he does, touch just isn’t usually on his mind. However, every once in a while when he’s feeling extra lonely the Knocker can become quite clingy.
🗝️ While he doesn’t talk often, he loves hearing you speak. Doesn’t matter what it’s about, if it’s important or not, Knocker wants to know everything on your mind and will remember every word. Even if he doesn’t respond, he’s listening.
🗝️ Speaking of remembering, I’ve mentioned this briefly but the Knocker is an incredibly lonely being. He’s not used to people paying attention to him unless he instigates it and has a deep-rooted fear of being forgotten. So if you were to do small things in your daily life that show you think of him when he’s not there, it would make him ecstatic.
You were always exhausted after a long day of mining, and today had been no different.
You only meant to gather some iron and head right back home, as you had grown quite low. But the sight of a mineshaft had distracted you from that goal, and instead lead you way deeper into the cave than you had expected.
Now you were finally back home. It was late at night, and the sound of thunder rumbled in the distance alongside the soft pitter-patter of rain against your roof. You had started a fire earlier, the pleasant scent of burning wood filling the air as it warmed the house. You sorted today’s loot in your chests, taking the last few diamonds from your inventory and placing them inside.
The sight of your haul filled you with pride. That detour into the mine had been a great choice, as now you had twice as much iron and gold than before alongside quite a few diamonds. Your chest was so full now you could barely get it to shut, having to push down a bit harder before you heard it click shut.
Satisfied, you were about to head to bed when a sharp knock stopped you in your tracks, head snapping towards the door.
“Who’s there?” You called out, but you suspected there was only one person who would be over this late in this weather. Someone you hadn’t seen in days.
And exactly as you guessed, when you opened the door you were met by a dark figure with a smile too wide for his face waiting in front of you.
The Knocker was drenched from the rain, his hoodie clinging to his frame as he tilted his head at you. He was shivering from the cold, no doubt having been in the rain for quite a while. He didn’t speak, but you could tell what he was asking from the look in his eyes.
“How long have you been out here?? You’re completely soaked!” You exclaimed, quickly stepping out of the way so he could walk inside. “Come on, I have a fire going. Let’s warm you up.”
As the Knocker plopped himself on the couch in front of the fireplace, you took a blanket and wrapped it around his shoulders.
“Seriously… what were you doing?” You asked again, sitting down next to him.
He hesitated, before replying in a quiet, raspy voice.
“You dropped this, so I wanted to get it back for you.” He reached into his hoodie pocket and pulled out a small diamond, your eyes widening at the sight.
“Oh my gosh, I didn’t even realize!” You accepted the diamond gratefully, giving the Knocker a grateful smile. “Thank you.”
The Knocker only nodded, and after a few moments of comfortable silence he leaned against your side, resting his head on your shoulder.
“I missed you.” He mumbled, closing his eyes as he relaxed against your body. You felt a warmth blooming in your chest that had nothing to do with the fire, and you wrapped an arm around his waist.
“I missed you too.” You replied softly, and the two of you stayed like that for the rest of the night, curled up on the couch and basking in each other’s presence.
Tumblr I am also excited for the baby Ghasts can we please stop blaming their situation on piglins
Guys the piglins aren't sadistic torturers. Y'all act like they're the villains of the nether and like mojang has some sort of official lore that piglins are the baddies responsible for everything. If anything I'd say piglins are just as much victims of the nether's harsh climates as the ghasts. ffs man let the pig ppl live.
