Prompt: âOut of all the people I could have been caught under a mistletoe with, it HAD to be youâ + personal request by anon
Characters: Timothy McGee x reader
Gender: Any/Neutral    Triggers: None
You listened to Abby as she rambled on about what evidence she found on the case, but your mind kept wandering to the agent that was standing next to you, a little closer than you would prefer. You and McGee hated each other, okay well, you didnât really hate each other, you just...easily got on each others nerves to the point where it felt like you hated each other. But in reality, you actually kind of liked him, but you would never admit it. Not to him at least. Â
âAnd thatâs it!â Abby said cheerfully
âThatâs great, thanks Abbyâ you said before turning to leave, your shoulder bumping slightly into McGeeâs causing him to glare at you lightly
"I still have a couple questionsâ McGee said, mostly to you, since you were the one that had to drive him to the suspects house when you were done with Abby.
Sighing you stopped and turned âOkay then, askâ
After giving you another annoyed look he asked Abby a couple questions, most of which you already knew the answers too, causing you to be a little bit more annoyed by him.
âAre you done now?â you asked, leaning against the wall
âYesâ he said while rolling his eyes
You waved at Abby as you both turned to leave, you noticed the almost ecstatic look on Abbyâs face but chose to ignore it. But before you could, she spoke up, well more like yelled.
âMistletoe!â
You and McGee both turned towards her, equal looks of confusion written across your face, the both of you glancing briefly at each other.
âWhat?â you asked in unison
She seemed to be struggling with holding back a grin, pointing above your heads she seemed to be bouncing on her heels âMistletoeâ
Both yours and McGeeâs heads tilted up, your eyes landing on the green foliage handing in the doorway.
âOh, no no. Noâ you and McGee continued in unison.
âI am not kissing himâ you said, shocked Abby would stoop this low
âAnd I am definitely not kissing y/nâ he said defensively
âWell thatâs too bad, cause your not leaving until you doâ Abby said, more seriousness laced in her voice that you could ever recall before
âOh really? Just watch meâ you said turning to leave, but the door didnât budge turning back to Abby and McGee you stuttered out âHow did you lock this door?â
She just smiled at you, rolling your eyes you took a couple steps forward âThis is ridiculous Abby, just let us goâ
âSeriously, come on Abbyâ
You glanced at McGee, noticing a red tint to his cheeks. He was embarrassed, it was kind of cute.
âNopeâ was all Abby said before going back to her work.
You and McGee looked at each other, exchanging looks of annoyance. But surprisingly, you werenât annoyed at each other this time, but with Abby.
âAnd what if Gibbs notices we didnât show up at the suspects house? We are in the middle of an investigation Abbyâ you continued to try and convince her to let you and McGee leave but she remained silent. Sighing you looked at him âOut of all the people I had to get stuck under a mistletoe with, it had to be youâ
âIâm pretty sure thatâs cause she did it on purposeâ McGee said, looking almost offended at your statement. Abby continued with her work silently, watching you two out of the corner of her eye.
âFine, then what do you suggest we-â
You were cut off unexpectedly. McGee had grabbed your face and pressed a kiss to your lips. You were considering giving up anyway, kissing him lightly on the lips, just a peck. But McGee beat you too it, except he didnât just give you a light peck. The kiss was more passionate than you expected. It didnât even feel forced. When he pulled away you stared at him shocked.
He turned to Abby and gestured at her with his hands âThere, we kissed, now the door pleaseâ
Abby reached under her desk and pressed a button that unlocked the door. All with a look of shock on her face, matching yours almost perfectly. McGee quickly turned and left you standing there.
Turning you looked over at Abby âWhat just happened?â
âHonestly, I thought one of you would give in and kiss the others cheek, I wasnât expecting thatâ Abby let out a shocked laugh âThat was some kissâ
You just cleared your throat before turning and quickly leaving, Abby staring after you, wondering what the ride to the suspects house would be like. Walking out into the hallway you saw McGee waiting. His eyes met yours, but before you could say anything he quickly turned, leading the way out of the building. You couldnât help but notice that he looked angry? Or maybe he was just really embarrassed.
