Now, this is interesting... this creepy looking guy here:
"Don't move, Scrooge!" "I'm actually petrified..."
found him in a 1986 Topolino in the story "Zio Paperone e la lotta titanesca" (I'd rather have not 'cause now I'm gonna have nightmares) and he's called...
"But think! How can you be happy if you're rich?" "Fibs, Glomgold!"
FAMEDORO?!?! (That's Glomgold in Italian) What the...?!
This can't be old Flinty!
He's admitting Scrooge is richer!
"And you concede that I've got more money than you?" "Let's say you've got some extra penny!"
And says that he's poorer but happier???
"... only if you admit that I'm happier than you!" "Oh, but you aren't!"
And they've been rivals for forty years?
"We've been rivals for forty years, but I've always fought fair! You allow that?" "I allow it!"
WHO ARE YOU?!?!
Now... I did some research... and found out that this is actually a Disney Studios story for the foreign market, original title is "The Happy Tycoons" by Ed Nofziger and Jamie Diaz Studio (thank you for the creepy eyes, I can see my soul in them) and the name of this charater is McFee!
McFee! Not Glomgold!
I don't own any of the reprints so I don't know if this has been corrected... but this is not the only case where Glomgold's name or his design have been attached to random characters in Italy... ...we Italians are such morons sometimes... often... practically always... ^^'
But wait! There's more!
Look at him:
... uhm... black suite... white shirt... waistcoat... glasses... cane... shoes... bowler hat! Reminds me of someone...
It's not only the design... he has the same attitude as Rockerduck!
"Ehi, come on!" "Deluded!" "Unhappy!"
Don't tell me this guy is the reason why there was this belief in Italy that saw Glomgold and Rockerduck as the same character! O.O
Edit: actually, no he's not... we've had trouble telling John apart from Flintheart since 1968! (And still in 1988, so yeah: he could have contributed XD)
