Mayuu outwardly presents himself as a logical and cold person with a pretty good ability to lead. He tries to keep to himself unless necessary, to seem intimidating. Because of this, most people don't know much about him, except that he's active in class recitation and that he always somehow gets into trouble (Overblots). In short, Mayuu remains mostly unnoticed. Except when he's training with his crew, Mayuu tends to blend in the background, a thing that annoys him.
Despite wanting to seem cold and aloof, Mayuu naturally desires connecting with others, and isn't afraid to approach someone he finds interesting. He says that it's "only for the mission", but you can see him spending time with people that he doesn't want involved in the mission (Cater, Maddox, Lewis), even though it would be smarter to use the time for earning money and planning strategies. Mayuu is also pretty impulsive, though he'd rather you believe otherwise. He wants you to believe that he totally planned that, but there's like a 50% chance that it's not and Mayuu is just extremely lucky. Of course, he also does do a lot of planning and strategizing, especially related to Overblots.
Using she/her from this point onwards because Mayuu is a crossdressing cisfem (maybe), and hides her identity because she -finds reverse traps attractive- doesn't want to be in danger because all-boys school.
Mayuu is a sensitive, emotional person. In her previous world, she wasn't ashamed of being a crybaby (sorta) and she often had a big grin on her face. Mayuu is afraid of showing emotion, showing weakness in NRC, afraid that someone would take advantage of it and hurt her and those she's close to. Though, even now, when she sees a dandelion on the side of the road, you could see the small smile forming on her face. Mayuu is a bit of a scaredy-cat, afraid of ghosts and demons and tall people. However, her actions don't really reflect her emotions, and she's often the one charging into battle or going into haunted houses first. Maybe it's her hero complex.
Mayuu is a very religious person. Christianity, to be exact. As a Filipino (🇵🇭), she was raised in a deeply Christian household, going to church every week and praying before eating and all that. Mayuu was a curious book-loving child, often exploring the pages in the Bible that should not be seen by a small 9 year old (Revelations, Jeremiah, Songs of Solomon). It was all in the pursuit of God. Indeed, Mayuu's actions still reflect that scripture. From her self-sacrificial nature to her at times detrimental generosity to the way she tries to help others even if it wouldn't bring her any benefit. In a more personal level, Mayuu often expresses her emotions to her God, often crying to him when someone was somewhat mean to her or if she misses her family too much. Mayuu doesn't let herself show weakness to anyone except her God (and close friends), since to her, God is home. God is the only connection she has left with her home.
A little less angsty fact, Mayuu is a simp. She tends to have a crush on most of the students there. Technically, her type is people with glasses, but she can almost always find at least one thing about a person that she finds physically attractive (eyes, hands, sense of style). Her crushes range from simple physical attraction to daydreaming about a married life with the person. There are also some crushes that she find morally repulsive but physically attractive, and she can't really comprehend why her heart flutters whenever she hears him speak or laugh or smile or do an evil grin. Anyways, she'd rather die than admit she has a crush on anyone. Though she feels the feelings loudly in her chest, she would never confess because either:
1) He's her best friend/companion in the battles, and she doesn't really want to ruin their relationship rn (ex: Ace Trappola)
2) She bloody hates him and would rather die than let it be known that he haunts her every waking moment (ex: A*ul A****grotto)
3) She thinks that pursuing that romantic relationship would not bring happiness to either party because they are very incompatible, despite being very into him (ex: Riddle, Sebek)
5) She's currently very busy making money and preparing for the first five Overblots and also doing school. Once they lose VDC, Mayuu knows that she doesn't have to worry about money as much, so she could freely date
Mayuu wrote Twisted Wonderland fanfiction. It was mainly first year gang x readers, along with yandere dormleader headcanons, and a couple of matchups. It is in the notes app of her old phone that she currently has with her, and she is doing her best to keep anyone from her crew (Ace, Deuce, Epel) from ever seeing it. Okay, screw that. Anyone from NRC. That is her deepest darkest secret.
Mayuu was very different in her old world. She was cheery and outgoing, but forgetful and careless. She was also spoiled by her parents, with a housekeeper doing most of the chores, so Mayuu had a hard time adjusting to the life of Prefect in the rickety run-down Ramshackle dorm. Mayuu tries to do what a good, responsible adult would do in this scenario. Scheme Crowley out of his money. Also not show any emotions.
Because Mayuu was careless, and being emotional is part of her old, careless self, and she's afraid to let go of what she has now. She is currently doing a bunch of errands and part-time jobs, along with exercising every morning and training every afternoon. Her academics is a bit lower than before, probably due to her being too tired to stay awake, but overall she's doing good at being self sufficient. Mayuu is afraid to become what she was before, afraid that showing emotion would be loosening her reins on herself.
But even so, Mayuu is envious of her previous self. So happy and carefree, who had the ability and opportunity to be kind and generous to other people. Sometimes, she hears Kalim laugh in the hallways and feel a tinge of jealousy in her heart. Deuce and his mum are close, and are often calling one another. It makes Mayuu feel homesick, miss the hugs of her own darling mother and the food cooked by her dear father. Whenever that happens, Mayuu tries to find an opportunity to hide away in a private area and cry.
Closest to Vargas in all the staff. She recruited him to wake her up at 5 am for daily jogging and strength training, and now he shouts outside her window every break of dawn. Even once called Vargas "dad", which her dear friends tease her about
Has a tendency to address people by their last names. This is to seem formal and cool. If two people share a last name, she will refer to them by their first name.
Floyd calls her "pufferfish-chan". This is because she tries to make herself seem more powerful and intimidating than she really is. Rook calls her "roi de l'ombre" or King of Shadows in English. This is in reference to her own little crew of Overblot Fighters, and how she often blended in with her surroundings.
