If I had a nickel for every Disney children’s cartoon I watched where the grumpy but lovable parental figure old man ran a highly unconventional mayoral campaign against a big rich guy who everyone kind of hates voiced by Stephen Root and lost because of some ridiculous reason, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice.

Today was some review in general. Less than a month to go folks. Less than a month to go.
Today I watched Toad to Redemption and Maddie and Marcy. Interesting look at Mayor Toadstool, his deeply uncomfortable relationship with Toadie, how positive reinforcement works wonders. And some indications that Newtopia is not exactly neutral in the Toads opress Frogs dynamic. Bog is a fun antagonist I'm sure he'll be back. Nice to see Anne's sympathies. Maddie & Marcy is a fun little episode. Not a whole lot to say but that its fun and a hoot. They're a fun duo.
Connection: Under the anti-commandeering doctrine the federal government cannot force state or local governments to enforce federal law for them, which would impact Toadstool here, although if he resigned as mayor that would solve the issue (kind of the whole point of the episode). Also Amphibia is not bound by American constitutional law.
