Dear Diary,

I can’t believe I forgot her. It’s a horrible feeling of unrest, knowing memories have been taken from you. She said she hadn’t heard from me in weeks ... I don’t remember those weeks going by. 

I apologized over and over. I wish I had an explaination for her. I wish I had an explaination for myself. 

I told her it was a travesty, a crime against nature, the most devastating offense, to forget a soul such as hers. I said this and more, rambling about her eyes, her hair, her skin, her voice .. I was so wrapped up in my own guilt, so busy scrambling to make things up to her, that I barely noticed her moving closer and closer ... framing my face with her hands ...

Then she covered my mouth with hers, and all my runaway trains of thought screeched to a halt.
