Sonic is a huge hyperfication for me and I had already purchased both movies on DVD but after hearing about what Paramount did and hearing about propaganda in the knuckles show I couldn't watch it anymore I'm genuinely crushed that such a shitty company got to taint my favorite characters
also on my now not as blinded by excitement rewatch of the second movie I feel there was a lot of issues with it leaving me to end up skipping though large chunks of the movie there's definitely some issues with pacing and also with how they handle forming the bond of sonic and tails it felt kinda rushed and some things straight up made no sense
Which kinda surprised me since I liked the first movie so much and still manage to enjoy the first one left me feeling like the second one just missed a lot of the emotional bonding moments that the first one had
I'm genuinely terrified that they will fuck up shadows charter and emotional development moments on the new movie ( also fuck paramount I gonna pirate that shit for free as soon as it comes out)
I think it really sucks when a thing you enjoy lets you down in such a way that it takes what you liked from it in the past and taints it forever. There's something immensely sad about that. Sometimes, however, it's not forever. In the future, you can regain your enjoyment for such things once that initial anger and/or disgust inside you has settled. That was how I felt about Sonic (the franchise) after the big horrible drought + Sonic 4 + Lost World + Forces (and Sonic Team's self-flagellating attitude of the 2010s era in general). I did eventually come back, though. The series gave me a reason to come back.
Though even if Sonic 3 does end up being actually good with some awful marketing going on, you're right: Fuck Paramount. They don't deserve a single dime from your pocket.
