1st year Masters Architecture project- The 3 layers of halifax, the fracture through the city I wanted to emphasis it and make it more of a feature than a point to correct. Looking at Lebbeus Woods’ idea of war and that we can either cover it up or make a point of using it to demonstrate something more poetic.  When we get a fracture of the bone. the doctors point to fix it was to apply a cast to the wound. so that it would heal itself, but the doctors always firsts wants to know what cause the fracture. For this we need to look into the history of Halifax and what caused the fracture of the town; what caused it to break apart and become meaningless to what it is. We look at the ghosts of the city, buried in the depths of halifax with pealing back areas to reveal a true understanding of the space. Like the minster, we peal back the road to undercover its true identity of what it takes and gives to the people of halifax. Almost like a mirror across the entirety of the space showing its true reflection. The minster like a cell; Taking peoples souls and entrapping them so that the people above can live a full and happy life knowing that they have left their demons there.
