The Gerte & Seamour Shavin House is a ‘Polliwog-type’ Usonian; Wright’s nickname for a plan where the common areas are in one larger section and a long ‘tail’ section for the sleeping areas.

The only Wright-designed house in Tennessee, the home is still in the same family that originally commissioned it, at least for the time being as it recently entered the market for the first time ever.

The Shavin House was added to the US National Register of Historic Places 1993

Mrs. Clinton Walker House (Aka Cabin on the Rocks),

The Usonian-style cottage was designed in 1945-1951and completed in 1952-1956 for Mrs. Clinton "Della" Walker of Pebble Beach. 

Frank Lloyd Wright designed the house to resemble a ship’s bow on the water making use of the reef. Although it was enlarged in 1956 to 130 square meters (1400sq. ft.), initially, it was 92,9 sqm (1,000 sq. ft.) with three bedrooms, three baths, a kitchen and a 37,2 sqm (400 sq. ft.) living area. 

In 1956, a studio addition was designed by Mr Wright for Ms Walker’s craftwork and weaving at the southeast corner of the building. The plans were eventually used to make way for an expanded primary bedroom in 1960

The house made the USA National Register of Historic Places in 2016.

“When you enter a Frank Lloyd Wright building, without exception, it is through a compressed entryway, with a low ceiling. And when you emerge from the corridor, that compression is released and the expansion occurs in each of the rooms, giving you a greater sense of each of those spaces.”

Reisley, age 101, has lived in this house for 73 years.
