I began to experiment more and deeper into my work , I decided I’m not done with the shapes , instead I want to make these quirky shapes into something different . A FACE. A quirky face in fact . Grace weaver was a prime artist I looked at , aswell as George Condo who creates fractured portraits, I love his work , and they both were inspirations when creating this . I wanted this to show my bright colours , weird shapes , reality yet cartoon style in a way which gave off so much vibrance & energy . However I also wanted to include my bold outline , in which I did . And I feel it has worked really well . I feel within pop culture various objects / faces / everyday items were used to create art , and I also wanted to explore this by putting myself in their shoes and thinking of new ideas of ways to persue my work even further . When creating the majority of my work I feel acrylic works best for me , due to the consistency of the paint , the colours you can get and mix , it’s also a very bright & bold material which I feel works amazingly well when creating pop art , you can do so much with it , and the outcome is always great! For the canvas side of things , I love canvas , more bigger canvases than smaller , due to the fact at how strong they are , they won’t crinkle like paper , the colour stays true and I feel for me it’s the best way to experiment with ideas before moving onto another object .
