I got an idea a but ago
Mastermind Chihiro but not in the Junko way, an actually has gone insane and is barely (if at all) mentally stable. He wouldn't be doing it for "despair" or anything like that, it would be just pure insanity and probably bloodlust.
Now I maight stray a bit too much from OG Danganronpa, but what is he just framed all the murders. It was him each time. And instead of flashy executions it's just the "culprit" being draged into the room, doors slam shut and all the others here is the horrified screams as Chihiro stabs them to dead.
