2. What is something you’re really proud of? My brain. It is very good, and I work on it a lot. 

3. What colour are the walls of your bedroom? Blah apartment cream.

4. Favourite word? Oh this is tough. I think it's a tie between unabashed and petrichor. 

5. Do you currently love/have a crush on someone? If so, name one quality that you like about them. Welp, I have a long-term partner so... One quality I like about him is that he's very steady. I can always depend on him to just be him and that's very comforting.

6. If you could make one thing disappear from your life, what would it be? Um.... Student loan debt for sure. Lol

7. What’s the best hot beverage to drink when you have a cold? Chai tea

8. Favourite piece of fandom art? Oh shoot. This is like impossible. I love basically everything by anotherwellkeptsecret and archia, though.

9. Favourite fic? Lol. Again, impossible. I have a FIC REC BLOG GUYS. But I'll give you my Top Three in my Hall of Fame, which are: Performance in a Leading Role, The Great Sex Olympics of 221b, and What to Do When Your Flatmate is Homicidal. 

10. Have you read The Hobbit? Yes, several times actually. I've only gotten all the way through LOTR twice, but The Hobbit is a pretty easy read. 

11. Favourite Benedict Cumberbatch body part? Oh geez, that's tough too, but I have to say that mouth. Just. Unf. Okay. Sorry. ::sigh::

In December 2012, I graduated with my MA in English (concentration: Childrens & American lit). I uprooted my family, and for most of the month of January, we were essentially homeless. It was scary. But because of the kindness of friends and family, we found a place. 

I started a program in Information Studies at the University of Texas this year, and settled into life in Austin. Most of that life was working; at any given moment, I had 3 part time jobs, plus grad school full time. Over the summer, I had 4. It was exhausting. I rarely saw my kid, and my partner and I had a rough time connecting. 

Over the summer, I discovered Sherlock / Tumblr / fandom / fan fiction. Yes. I am a total noob. Do people still say noob? I doubt it. See how nooby I am? Anyway. I've long been a Doctor Who fan, and obviously am a long-time geek and writer of sci-fi, fantasy, and romance things, but I'd never become so invested in a fandom in real time like I did this year. Through this fanship, I strengthened relationships with several friends of mine, but most especially Essbee and Kate. These women are so important to me, and those relationships have kept me from running off the rails several times in the last year. I cannot express how grateful I am. 

Shipping Sherlock was started in August, and it's been an incredible outlet (and, sort of, inlet) for me. By continually interacting with fan writers, fan artists, and fandom consumers, I have learned so much. In response, I picked up my pen to write something other than scattered novel ideas and 15 page research papers for the first time in several years. Fan fiction inspired me to write again, and I've just kept writing. I can't wait to see what 2014 holds for me as an artist now, and I owe most of that to the incredible support and fantastic culture that this fandom has created for itself. Seriously, it is amazing.
