Meaningless, aimless; direction-less outside of the effect of the forces that act upon the materials that exist, but no less beautiful for the chaos. What YOU see is a direct reflection of how YOU see the world. And that is the seemingly impossible to communicate point I've been trying to get across to y'all for literal years. It is 3D. You really can, in person, peer into the painting. There are layers, depths, and shadows that shift when you or the light does. This is just a few inches of one painting, and there are hundreds of details to get lost in, this moment in space and time captured. The illusion of movement, like a photograph, only a painting. Frozen forever, a universe on panel. I had to break almost every rule they told me applied to my mediums to accomplish this. What I could see in my mind's eye mattered more than their rules. It was worth being told repeatedly that I couldn't, shouldn't, and was creating an abomination of the medium, to be able to create it. Rules are limits others found useful, and they are a road block to me. It was worth it. Years of trial and error later, and no shortage of feeling pretty damn alone with a side of self-doubt, and I can bring the most beautiful and fascinating parts of the entire universe into my garage and studio, at will.
