Children tales are written in a way that suggests a master-slave relationship between a human and a robot. Tales with robots preaching for equality being punished for their evil thoughts are read to infants at their bed. There are no lessons saying something besides that in all the education system - neither in kindergarten, nor in college.

Due to less animals being used as food sources, meat has to be brought in a different way. What started as an experiment in the year 2014 now became the main source: Cultured meat. Instead of slaughtering animals, meat is grown in labs, which brought a great reduce in greenhouse gases, energy and water use. Less land had to be wasted to raise cattle, and could be used for houses, cities and factories for the robots. Not only was it more healthy due to the lack of medicine that could be poisonous to the humans, it was also less fat, and had more nutrients. Other sources for food are insects, which the Asian brought back to Lagos when they came. Known under the term mini-livestock they provide nutrients just like meat and hold a lot of proteins. There are 1400 species living in nature, and more are created in labs. Caterpillars and locusts have always been part of the diet in Africa, but with the attempts to become more attractive to the West in 2050 and the following years, that tradition was lost. When the Asian came, however, they were put back on the menu.

Nigerian cuisine

Nigerian food has a huge tradition. Recipes and ways of cooking have been taken from the ancestors and put into modern use, but the dishes themselves remain the same except for a few changes. In most parts of Lagos, Nigerian restaurants dominate the culinary world. In every restaurant, even those of other countries, you can find a Nigerian dish or two.

Tattoos and piercings are accepted everywhere, as they are seen as a way of expression too. The trend goes to colourful hairstyles, or those which are done in a complicated and time-consuming way.

The same goes for make-up, however there it’s also not uncommon to go into the exactly opposite direction and use metallic, cold colours, just like for clothes or the hair. It’s the counter-movement to the colourful.

Fashion in general can be seen as the opposite to the technological and grey clothes of the robots. They are used as a way to immediately tell whether a person is a robot or not, and access to other shops are rarely granted to the androids.
