idk, i’ve seen most of MASH and i think the tension between it being “US military propaganda” and “approaching genuine anti-war sentiment” is interesting and complex, but i wouldn’t like, recommend anyone watch it. at its best it’s v much a show written for usamericans abt how to grapple with being inherently complicit in evil, imo.
i also think klinger, once you get past the first few eps which ARE just straightforward transmisogynist gags, transcends the bounds of that form (despite the show’s overall intentions) and becomes an actual complex believable character. i think not expecting this to ever happen with characters who start out as man-in-dress gags is kind of shortsighted. but ymmv, i’m tme and again, i wouldn’t actually recommend the show on this basis.
