When you think of your parents, you think how right they are for one another. They support each other no matter what and share the love endlessly. When you think of Bucky Barnes and his girlfriend, you think that it might not last past the initial lust stage. Once that fades away, you know Bucky is going to dump her for another girl who can satisfy his needs. When you think of Steve... those feelings just aren’t there. He’s a good guy, and you love him as a friend, but all he’ll ever be is a friend…

But you don’t think he understands that.      

You met him through Bucky since he was the second-best car mechanic in the area. Bucky offered to look at your car for you but considering what happened last time, you’d rather go to someone that he might recommend. He accidentally broke something that wasn’t broken in the first place and ended up doing more work to the car, which then turned into this whole mess. You needed work done since whatever Bucky did, didn’t hold up well.

Steve has been trying to get you to go out with him ever since he met you, but there wasn’t any spark between you two. There’s nothing wrong with him, but you’re not into guys like him. He’s super shy, he stutters when he’s nervous, and he doesn’t go for things he wants. He always asks if you’re doing alright and checks up on you which turns you off. You love a man who knows what he wants and grabs it. You would be with Bucky if you hadn’t grown up with him.

Steve is so sweet and thoughtful, but you don’t know how to tell him you’re just not interested.

“Bucky?” you call out when you enter the back shop he owns.

He’s doing pretty well for himself since he has at least five cars in the shop at any given time. One of them is yours, and when you spot it, you head over to see him underneath the hood with headphones in. They were so loud you could hear them where you stand, and you tried thinking of a way you could get his attention without scaring him. You reach for the toolbox in his line of view, and he jumps when he notices you standing there. He quickly takes out his headphones to greet you with a big smile.

“Hey, Y/N, what’s up? You look very nice,” he compliments with a blush.

“Thanks. Um, how’s my car coming along?”

“Oh, I still have maybe a couple more days still in the shop until she’s ready to go.”

“Great. Anything I can do to help speed up the process?”

“Unless you know how to fix the radiator, then no,” he chuckles.

“Yeah, I don’t know how to do that.”

“I’m glad you stopped by. I have something for you.”

“Really? You didn’t have to do that,” you try to decline since you don’t want to continue to lead him on.

Accepting whatever he has would mean you were encouraging him to pursue you. He waves you off and grabs a small bouquet of flowers he must have gotten before you arrived.

“Oh, wow,” you trail off, accepting them.

“I didn’t know your favorite kind, so I got a mix. Do you like it?”

“Yeah, they’re beautiful. Thanks, Steve.”

“It’s no problem, really,” he says, a light blush dusting over his cheeks.

“So, my car won’t be ready until hopefully, Friday?” you ask hopefully, trying to steer the conversation back to your car.

“Yeah, maybe sooner.”

“Great. Well, I have to get going. I have Bucky waiting, and I don’t want him to wait too long. Just give me a call when it’s ready, okay?”

“Oh, okay. It was nice to see you,” he stutters.

He wants you to stay and hang out, but he doesn't know how to ask you. He knows you’re a busy woman, but he really wants you to stay even if it’s for a minute. However, all you do is smile and leave the place, gripping the flowers tightly in your hands.

“So, what’s Sam up to these days?” you ask, stuffing your mouth with a load of Chinese food.

Bucky was sleeping over at your place since he needed to be up super early, and your place is a lot closer to his work than he is. You don’t mind, you really like his company.

“He and Sharon are going to try for a baby. That’s cool, I guess.”

“Really? That's awesome! They’ve been trying for what, almost a year?”

“Yeah, I really hope this time it sticks because I want a niece or nephew to spoil,” he chuckles.

“Ever think about settling down and having your own kids?”

“Nah, I’m having too much fun,” he laughs.

Just then, your landline starts ringing, and one look at the caller ID makes your eyes roll in annoyance. Steve is calling yet again, but you decide to let your machine pick it up. You really don’t have anything against him, but the more he calls and tries to get with you, the more you don’t like him. He’s a damn good mechanic, but you’re not into him at all. You feel so bad for treating him this way, but he's been really clingy lately, and that’s not a good trait to have. The machine beeps, signalling to Steve to start recording his message.

“Hey, Y/N, it’s me, Steve. I just wanted to let you know that your car is ready. I don’t know when you want to pick it up, but you can call me when you get this, and we’ll set a date. N-not like an actual date, b-but… anyway, I’d really like to see you again so call me when you get this, please. It’s Steve. Okay, bye.”

“Still dodging his calls?” Bucky chuckles.

“I don’t know what to do, Buck. He keeps calling me and tells me I’m pretty and gives me flowers, and I don’t know how to tell him I’m not interested.”

“Whatever you decide to do, don’t lead him on. Steve's a good guy, and he can spend his energy on someone else. You have to tell him.”

“I know, but how? It’ll break his heart.”

“Yeah, but he can start to move on. He’s a big boy, he can handle himself.”

“I sure hope you’re right,” you sigh and shove another mouthful of food onto your mouth.

“Steve?” you call out when you enter the shop the next day.

“Back here!” he responds.

You head towards the back of his shop to see him closing your hood. He wipes off the dust on his jeans and smiles once he sees you.

“Is she ready?”

“All done! You know, I’m going to miss working on her because now you won’t come around here anymore. Unless you ever want to hang out with me,” he suggests in a hopeful tone.

“How much do I owe you?” you try to keep the conversation on the car and only on it.

“Oh, that’ll be $250. Bucky provided the rest since he felt bad for breaking it in the first place.”

“Okay, that’s nice of him.”

“You know, I heard this new restaurant opened up downtown, and maybe if you’re not busy tonight, we could go? They have all kinds of food, so don’t worry about not liking something there.”

“Here you go,” you smile and hand him the money.

“Oh, thanks,” he takes the money.

All you want to do is leave without answering him, so you grip your door handle to get inside, but you’re not fast enough.

“You want to go with me tonight? Maybe we can take a walk in the park afterward. The weather is nice enough for it,” he asks.

You just know that if you turn to look into his eyes, you will cave in and say yes. Bucky told you not to lead him on, and that’s exactly what you’re not going to do. It’s not fair to him that you’re keeping him from finding someone who will love him for him. Taking a deep breath, you turn to tell him exactly that. However, when you see how bright and hopeful his eyes are, your shoulders sag slightly.

“Sure. I’d love to go,” you blurt out.

“Great!” he says excitedly. His smile is too wide to wipe off, and all you can give him in return was a tight one. “I’ll pick you up at seven. Does that work for you?”

“Yeah, it does.”

“Great! I’ll see you then!”

“Can’t wait,” you say flatly.

You can already hear Bucky calling you a pussy, and you can see him shaking his head in disappointment. How were you ever going to let Steve down now without hurting his feelings and crushing his soul?

For the past few months, you’ve been seeing the same man over and over again no matter where you go. Asgard is a big place, but it doesn’t seem like it when one of the Princes seems to follow you wherever you go. You don’t want to confront him and tell him to leave you alone because that's not how one talks to the royal family. You don’t want to go up to him because what would you say? Maybe he’s not following you but visit all the places you are. Asgard is big, but everyone seems to know everyone.

All you can do is go about your life and hope that Thor goes away on his own. It’s been about two days since you last saw him, so you think he’s finally given up and decided to save Midgard again. That planet always seems like it’s on the brink of destruction.

You want to do something nice for your mother and get her some of her favorite flowers, so you head to the place that sells her favorite kind. Other stores have such beautiful flowers and plants, but it’s only this one that has the kind she loves.

You enter the store and give the store owner a kind smile as you head to the section where the flowers are. Your mother’s favorite color is blue, and it’s just a coincidence that they have blue flowers here. You pick a few when you notice someone lingering in the corner of your eye.

You don’t have to see who it is to know who it is. You never wanted to confront him this way, but you’ve had enough of this. Angry, you storm over to Thor who is shocked that you’re confronting him.

“Look, I don’t know what your problem is, but you’ve been following me for months. No disrespect, your majesty, but please stop.”

“Just you existing is entirely impossible, Alayna,” he mutters.

“Who? My name isn’t Alayna. It’s Y/N.”

“What?”

“Is there a reason you’ve been following me?”

“No. I’m sorry, please forgive me.”

Thor hastily makes an exit, leaving you more confused than ever. Thor had fallen in love with a woman named Alayna almost a thousand years ago. They were to be wed, but she was killed on their wedding night before they could seal the deal. Someone stole her from him, and he thought she was back. The only explanation for you to be here and not her is if she had a kid. However, they were together since they were teenagers, and he would have known if she had a kid or not.

She was the meanest of them all and would often humiliate the kids if she saw something she didn’t like. She’d go around to the different classrooms and observe for a while. If she saw something a kid was doing and she didn’t like it, they would be in a world of pain. You bet she just liked to pick stuff out on the spot just to get at these kids. You were miserable there.

When you finally had a chance to write to your big brother, he took you out of the school immediately. When you enrolled, you put your brother down as your emergency contact instead of your mother. He saved you from three and a half more years of hell. He let you stay in the apartment he was staying at while he went off to active duty once more. Whenever he got off, he’d come back into your arms since you missed him so much.

It broke your heart when you found out he died. Your whole world shattered around you. It’s how HYDRA was able to find you in the first place. You became reckless and got yourself captured. Yes, it was your fault you went through worse hell than the Dean of Students. You’d take her over the torture you endured while with HYRDA. When you found out they were keeping your brother and what they did to him, you were enraged. They wanted him to fight and kill you, but he took one look at you and he was able to beat whatever mind games they had over him.

That’s how strong your bond is with him. It’s been like that ever since you could remember. It’s even stronger now since you and James were free of HYDRA and everything else. The only thing you had a problem with is new enemies trying to take over the Avengers and break them apart. Recently, you had to go save your brother from a drug lord who wanted to use his abilities for his drug cartel.

It’s one thing to mess with James, but it’s another thing to bring you into it. People should be more afraid of you if they mess with him and vice versa. You lost him once, you weren't going to lose him again.

“James!” you screamed when you entered the place he was being held.

“Yeah, scream louder. Make sure they know we’re here,” Carol scoffed.

“He is my brother. I am not going to let anything happen to him. You find the men, I’ll go save my brother,” you decided and left on your own. Carol knew there was no getting through to you when your brother was involved. She left in the opposite direction since she can handle every man that threw themselves at her.

Luck was on your side since the first room you looked into contained James.

“James!” you rushed over to him.

“Y/N?” he muttered.

“I’m here. You’re okay. God, what did they do to you?” you muttered.

“I’m okay, it doesn’t hurt,” he whispered. The serum inside his body prevented him from being affected too much. HYDRA’s drugs were way worse than whatever these drug lords had with them.

“Still, come on. We’re going to get out out of here.”

“We?”

“Carol’s with me. Come on,” you huffed and got him to his feet.

He and Carol didn’t get along at first, but it’s important to you that they do now. Carol is the love of your life, and it would be a shame if your brother didn’t like her. He’s very protective, and he often imagined you being with a nice man and settling down. He doesn’t even know you’re into women. You and Carol started dating only a few months ago, but still. He should know who’s in your life.

“He’s going to take it well,” Carol says and grabs your hand.

“I hope so,” you sigh.

“Where is he?”

“I sent him on a grocery run. I need more time. I panicked.”

“Would this get your mind off it?” she asks and pulls out the date night jar you two made a long time ago. You never got to use it since there was mission upon mission to keep you busy.

“I forgot about that,” you chuckle.

She reaches into the jar and messes with the wooden sticks before pulling one out. On one side it reads, “cook dinner”. Carol knew nothing of the sort, but luckily you learned at a young age. The skill never left you even after all these years.

“You can’t cook to save your life,” you laugh.

“Yeah, but you can. Show me. I’m a quick learner,” she smirks.

“This is going to be a disaster,” you smile.

You and Carol walk into the kitchen to get food started. Actually, it’s not a bad idea to cook dinner since James could join you when he gets back. You did give him a pretty long list and Tony’s credit card. He might not be back for a while which gives you more time to tell him of your girlfriend,

While you are busy overthinking, Carol gathers the ingredients for something simple: spaghetti. You give her the simple task of boiling the noodles while you start on the meatballs. This is something you often made for you and James whenever he came back from the war.

“Let me help with that,” Carol states.

“You sure you can handle it?”

“I can handle it just fine,” she scoffs playfully and grabs chunks of meat in her hands.

You watch with a smile since it’s clear she doesn’t know what she’s doing. She skipped a few steps and went straight to making the ball.

“Carol, sweetie?”

“Yeah?”

“You’re doing it wrong.”

“I had a feeling I was,” she laughs. “Show me?”

Instead of doing it for her, you wrap your arms around her waist from behind to tell her what to do. After mixing the breading that is going to be used to coat and hold the meat together, you intertwined your fingers with hers to begin mixing everything together.

“If this is what cooking is, I kind of like it,” she smirks.

“Y/N, I’m home!” James calls out.

You immediately stake a step back away Carol and grab a towel to clean your hands of the meat and other gook. He walks in the kitchen with bags in his hands with most of them resting on his metal arm. He can’t feel how heavy it is, plus, he knows it can hold a lot of weight. T’Challa made sure to make him a sturdy arm.

“Oh, hey Carol.”

“Hi,” she nods.

She catches your eye and motions them to your brother. This is the time to tell him about you two. If you want a thing done right, then do it yourself.

“Look, James, I have something to tell you, and I should have told you when it happened, but I didn’t know how you were going to react. Carol and I are dating. We have been for a few months. I know what you’re going to say. I know you’ve always wanted me with a nice man, but Carol is something special. We just connected in ways I didn’t realize were possible. I’m sorry I didn’t tell you,” you sigh.

“Are you happy?” he asks after a while.

“So happy. She makes me very happy,” you say while looking at her.

A piece of her hair fell in front of her eyes, and you reach over to tuck it behind her ear. She gives you a wide smile when you cup her chin with her thumb.

“Then I’m happy for you.”

“What?” you ask, turning to face him.

“I’m happy for you. It’s not a secret you’ve been smiling more, and now I realize why. You should have told me when it happened, but I’m glad I know now.”

“Thanks, James,” you whispered.

“Do you want to have dinner with us?”

“It’s spaghetti.”

“I’d love to,” James hugs you tightly. “Plus, I need to know if she’s suitable for my baby sister.”

“James!” you whined.

He is only teasing, but you’re glad he knows. There is nothing you can tell him that would make his opinion of you change. He loves you with all his heart and can learn to love the person you do.

Now, you were a Youtuber, and you have a pretty big fan base since everyone was interested in your stories of being with the Avengers. Your Youtube channel consists mostly of you talking about the Avengers, having them on as guests to talk, showing off new technology that you create as a hobby, and reaction videos to comments and other things that fans want the Avengers to know. It was a fun job especially since you’re still on Tony’s payroll. It’s allowed you to live the lifestyle you want and to do the things you enjoy. He considers you family so he’s going to support you no matter what.

Those big paychecks have offered you a big beach house in New York where you can relax, go to the beach, test out cool technology, and anything else you wanted to do. Your beach house was huge, and it was often lonely for one person. There were at least eight bedrooms, six and a half baths, a big pool, a theater room, and a game room. Tony really wanted you to have it all and made sure to spoil you.

One of the great things about Tony is that he likes to surprise you when you least expect him. Usually, it’s just him, Steve, and Nat, but other times he’ll bring the whole group to hang with you. Times with them were so fun, and you had such great stories to tell your fans when they left.

About an hour ago, you had just finished recording and editing another video when you felt the wind pick up. It wasn’t windy all day, but then you heard the noise of Tony’s big ass jet headed your way. Looking at the sky, you shielded your eyes from the burning sun to watch the jet land on the sand. Almost all of the Avengers came piling out of it with summer items in their hands.

“Thanks for the warning,” you said, hugging Tony.

“I figured it was time for a visit. I brought the whole crew with me.”

“T-the whole c-crew?” you stuttered, feeling a blush creep up your neck.

“Yes, everyone,” he smirked, patting you on your back. He knew of your crush on the super soldier, and he used that against you every time he brought him over.

“Hey, it’s good to see you,” Steve smiled, giving you a hug.

“I thought Bucky was in Wakanda,” you asked, watching as the man of your dreams stepped off the plane.

“He was. We picked him up on the way. Good luck,” he whispered, patting you on the back. Great, Tony must have told him. Bucky made you so nervous, you didn't know what to do with yourself. He could ask you what the time was, and you wouldn’t be able to form a single word. It’s gotten better since you met him, but you were still a nervous wreck. If only you knew how he felt towards you, then maybe you could be better when it comes to presenting yourself to him.

Before he had a chance to come up to you and talk, you headed inside only to see Tony, Steve, and Clint messing with your Youtube equipment.

“Hey! Stay away from those! They are expensive!”

“Who do you think you’re talking to?” Tony smirked.

“Don’t make me smack you,” you glared. “So, what are you all doing here? I mean, I love your company, but you usually have a reason to visit.”

“We wanted to go on vacation. You have a beach house, and we figured that a beach trip was in order. Plus, I hear your pool is very nice,” Wanda smiled.

“Yes, it is. You all have Tony to thank for that. Alright, well, I guess if you’re all here, may as well make this a real party.”

It didn’t take long for you to get situated since everyone was super excited to be here. Alcohol, food, and party games were set up all around the house. There were people in the game room playing beer pong but with shots, some were watching movies, others were seeing how far they could hold their breath underwater in your pool. You wanted to join Bucky, Natasha, Steve, and Thor in the pool, but you were super nervous since you were worried about what Bucky would think of you in a swimsuit.

It was super nice, and you loved the style of it. It fit just right, showed off the best parts of yourself, and made you feel pretty good about yourself. It screamed at you to put it on and show it off, but you were just so worried of what Bucky would think of you.

“Come join us! The water is warm!” Thor announced.

“Yeah, come in,” Bucky agreed. Well, if he wanted you to come in, then who were you to deny him? Taking a deep breath, you walked back inside and changed into your swimsuit and wrapped a towel around you. Walking outside, you headed to the group of chairs the others were occupying. By the time you came out, Natasha and Thor were laying on the chairs and soaking up what little sun they had. It was nearing the end of the night, so the sunset was just beautiful.

In order for you to do this, you couldn’t even look at Bucky. Unwrapping the towel, you let it drop to the ground. Bucky noticed the way it looked on you before you jumped in, and that image will forever be etched in his mind. Steve noticed the way he was looking at you, and he nudged his friend in encouragement.

“Go talk to her, man,” he whispered before swimming off. When you surfaced, you rested your arms on the side of the pool to watch the sunset.

“It’s nice of you to have us over,” Bucky said when he swam to you. Your body froze, but you made sure not to let him know how much he affected you.

“It’s not a big deal, really. I like having you guys over. I miss you. I-I mean, everyone. I miss e-everyone.”

“Is that a new suit? It looks really good on you.”

“Flattery will get you nowhere,” you half-joked. It surprised you how smooth that sentence came out, but instead of questioning it, you decided to go with it.

“Duly noted,” he laughed.

“You look good too. I mean, I like your swimsuit. N-not that I was staring at you or anything, but--never mind,” you blushed. And the smoothness flies out the window as if was never there in the first place.

“Thank you,” he grinned.

The rest of the night was spent partying and having a good time with one another. It was only until everyone was asleep did you sneak out of the house to do your favorite thing in the world: stargazing. The stars were so pretty and bright this time of night, and because you don’t have a lot of pollution or light where you are, the sky was clearer.

It was silent and peaceful much like any other night, but you appreciated it more tonight. Maybe it was because you had guests over who were usually rowdy or whatever, but you did.

“Can’t sleep?” Bucky asked when he stepped outside. He noticed you standing outside all alone when he went to get something to drink and decided to see what was up with you.

“No, I just like to look at the stars,” you replied, your eyes not moving from the sky.

“They are beautiful,” he muttered, staring at you the entire time.

“Why aren’t you asleep?”

“Something had been on my mind the entire night, and I knew I wouldn’t be able to sleep until I get it out.”

“What’s on your mind?” you asked, finally turning to face him.

“You. Everything about you.”

“I’m sorry, what? Me?”

“Yeah. From the way you look in the moonlight to the sunset to the morning. I miss having you at the tower because I miss you. You were the best part of my day.”

“Where is this coming from?” you whispered.

“I’ve been keeping this inside for so long, I needed to say it. It’s alright if you don’t feel the same way as I do, but I just needed you to know.”

Well, may as well come clean if he was.

“Bucky, I’ve been crazy about you since I first met you. God, if I knew how you felt, then maybe I wouldn’t have acted like such a fool in front of you.”

“So, we feel the same way for each other.”

“I guess we do,” you smiled. Bucky has been through a lot of shit his entire life. There have been a lot of things that could have killed him but didn't. He’s fallen so many times, he’s lost count. But one thing is for certain--it won’t be those things that will kill him…

… it’ll be you.

Years prior to you meeting the Avengers, you figured out that you could bring your imagination to life. It started off when you were a child, but everyone thought you just had an overactive imagination. No one knew that you could solidify your thoughts because you never did it in front of them. No one deserved to know of the things you could do until you caused a freak accident on the highway. It took everything in you to escape which is why you went to Tony for help.

As soon as you got on board, Steve and Bucky took good care of you and made sure you were comfortable. They made you feel like you weren't a freak coming from a man who went from skin and bones to what he is now and a man with a metal arm and a messed-up brain. They were your new family, and you’ve never thought about leaving since. They even made sure your bedroom was right next to theirs just in case you needed anything from them.

So, it was odd when you got all these notes taped to your door, and the boys didn’t know who it could be. Everyone at the tower knew you were exclusively into men, so you excluded all of the women. The notes were tailored to your style, it had to be someone at the tower since you didn't hang out with anyone but them. The thought of it being either Steve or Bucky scared the shit out of you. Not because you didn't think they could like you, but at the thought that they would.

It wasn’t Steve you were worried about, it was Bucky. He had this charm and swagger that he carried with him everywhere he went. According to Steve, he was a real ladies man back in the day, so you knew that part of him didn't change. He was just shyer and secluded due to what HYDRA did to him. The thought of him liking you was so out there, it left you flabbergasted just thinking about it. He had the most beautiful eyes, handsome figure, and the most compelling personality you’ve ever come into contact with. He always knew how to make you smile without even trying.

The first time you realized you were in love with him was the day he had his one-hundredth birthday. It was crazy to think he was that old, but you had fun celebrating it. He wasn’t a big partier after HYDRA, but he attended even though he clearly didn’t want to be there. You might have been the only one to notice just how sad he was at his own birthday party. It just showed you just how much he cared for others as well as how strong he was. He had been through so much shit these past few decades, it was amazing how he was still standing.

He was kind of a role model for you since you wanted to be just like him. Thoughtful, selfless, compassionate, and everything in between. The notes you got reflected those qualities, but you didn’t allow yourself to think that it could be him leaving these notes.

The notes you got were sweet, and they always managed to make you smile. Each one you got, you saved in case you figured out who was leaving them. So far, the ones you got were as followed:

To get over Bucky, you had tried online dating, and Grayson was one of the guys you started to lightly date. He was kind of like Bucky in a way, but he rejected the idea of anything happening between the two of you after the fourth date. The only people who knew about Grayson was Bucky. Steve, and Wanda who overheard your conversation. You weren't into women, so it had to be with Steve or Bucky.

In order to capture who was leaving you these anonymous notes, you had Jarvis record your door at all times of the day so you could finally see the person’s face. You kept this little recording a secret, and Jarvis promised not to tell anyone about it. There was a camera conveniently placed so that it captured your door in widescreen mode, so you knew you would find out who it was. After you told Jarvis about it, you went to bed like nothing happened, hoping to see a note on your door. They always came at night when you were sleeping, never in the day time.

When you woke up in the morning, the first thing you did was go on your laptop and had Jarvis send you the video from last night. Mostly, it was a whole lot of boring shit, but when you saw a figure approaching, you let the video play normally. The person left a note, and when they turned around, you audibly gasped.

Abandoning your laptop on the bed, you grabbed the notes you collected before snatching the one on the door. Going across the hall, you knocked on Bucky’s door since you knew he was in there. Bucky opened the door, and he paled when he realized what was in your hand.

“Let me in,” you said. He took a deep breath and did as he was told. Once inside, you closed the door, making you two trapped inside the room together. “Okay, we’re not leaving this room until you start explaining. We will continue to be trapped together until you confess. I need this mystery resolved, and I need the truth to come from you.”

“What are those?” Bucky asked, trying to play the innocent card.

“You know, if you wanted to talk to me, you should have. There was no reason to leave these notes even though they made me smile,” you said, and he blushed shyly. “I like you too, James. More than you know. So, if you want to do something about it, now is the time to do so because if I leave, then that’s that.”

You and Bucky had a staredown and an intense one at that. He took one step to see if he would go through with it, and before you knew it, his lips were on yours. He kissed you passionately, but also kept it short because he didn't know if it was okay to do so. Without speaking, you kissed him this time, locking your lips with his to deepen the kiss. He tasted so sweet like strawberries, and you suddenly remembered the strawberry chapstick he borrowed from you the night before.

The kiss sent sparks between you two, and due to your powers, fireworks started exploding in the room. You jumped away from the kiss with a deep blush, embarrassed that this happened. The door busted open with Tony, Steve, Wanda, and Natasha standing there as if they were prepared for a battle.

“What the hell was that?” Tony screeched.

“I got carried away?” you bit your lip.

“Why did you image fireworks?” Natasha asked.

“It just… happened,” you grinned, looking at Bucky who smiled shyly.

“Come on, let’s leave them alone. No more fireworks,” Steve warned as he ushered everyone out of the room. As soon as the door clicked, you and Bucky went back to what you were doing, but this time, the only fireworks were inside of his mind.

When your pancakes were done, you started plating them when the kitchen door opened. The silence in the castle was shattered by a little kid screaming your name. That was weird, you didn’t know any kids. But why did this one sound like the God you had a crush on? Abandoning your food, you walked out of the kitchen and into the dining room to see Thor holding a squirming child as he tried to get out of his arms.

“Would you fucking stop?” Thor growled.

“Let me go!” the child yelled. He looked so familiar, but you didn’t know any kids much less had any that knew your name. His long black hair was greasy but tame, his skin was paler than anything you’ve ever seen, and those blue eyes were so captivating it made you gasp. No, it couldn’t be… you could never forget those eyes.

“Is that how you speak to kids?” you teased as you crossed your arms.

“This isn't a fucking kid. It’s Loki,” the God sighed as Loki got out of his grasp and ran to you. The little kid grabbed your leg as tight as he could, terrified to let you go.

“Thor, what did you do?” you growled lowly, scared to even touch the man you loved.

“Nothing! I left him alone for five fucking minutes, and when I come back, he’s a fucking kid. He won’t stop screaming your name, and whenever I put him down, he cries. Please, take him so I can figure out what the hell went wrong.”

“Went wrong? What were you two doing?!”

“Why are you guys shouting? It’s seven am,” Sif asked as she walked into the dining room. She was staying in the castle while her place was being renovated.

“Go ahead, Thor. Tell our friend how you turned Loki into a kid who not only wants me, but won’t let me go,” you groaned as you tried shaking him off, but the smile on his face meant he only took that as a sign to play.

“What did you do?” Sif sighed.

“Just, take him, Y/N. Okay? I’ll be back with a cure once I figure out what went wrong.”

“Thor, don’t you dare leave him with me!” you yelled, but the eldest brother was already out the door. Turning to your lovely best friend, you tried giving her the sweetest eyes possible. “Sif, please…”

“You’re on your own. Loki is annoying as a grown man, I don’t want kid him.”

“Fuck you,” you spat as he went back upstairs.

“Potty mouth!” Loki yelled.

“Loki, seriously? Get off me,” you groaned as you pushed him off your leg. That only encouraged him to snap back on, and you knew this was going to be a very long day. Thanks to your superhuman strength, the weight of him was practically nothing as you walked back into the kitchen. There was a reason why you hated kids; they were so fucking needy, and Loki was no exception. You were just lucky he wasn’t using his magic to fuck with you. Taking a seat at the table, you began eating when the little sorcerer untangled himself from your leg to climb onto the bench by your side. He reached over and stole some of your food with no regards to how you were feeling.

“Loki,” you growled. He stopped mid-bite to stare at you like a little kid would if they got in trouble, “this is my food. Go watch some TV or something. Okay? Leave me alone.”

“No!” he yelled before climbing onto your back. “Piggyback ride!”

“Thor is fucking dead,” you muttered to yourself.

Since breakfast was ruined, you decided to get a head start on your day by doing some of the chores you neglected to do during the week. The first thing you needed to do was clean your room since Natasha, Wanda, and Shuri were coming to Asgard over a few nights, and you wanted your room to be clean for them. Your sleepovers were always hectic, and the condition of your room when your friends left always proved it, so it didn’t matter if you were cleaning up, but it made you feel better.

Upon reaching your room, Loki ran inside before jumping onto your bed. The first thing you needed to do was change your sheets, so you pushed the little kid off the bed before stripping it.

“Hey!” he complained before popping his head from the other side.

“Stay out of my way. I am trying to clean my room. I didn’t sign up for babysitting, so don’t do anything that will piss me off,” you sighed as you pulled your bedsheet off. Loki immediately grabbed the bottom corner piece as he pulled, needing to have a little fun. “Loki, seriously!”

“Loki, seriously!” he mocked you.

“I don’t know why Odin rescued you from Jotunheim,” you snapped which caused all the happiness in his body to dissolve. His face fell at that unnecessary jab, and he let go of your sheets. His big bright blue eyes filled with tears, and you immediately felt bad for saying something in the first place. Little kid Loki showed a lot more than adult Loki, and it broke your heart to see him cry. Dropping the sheets, you ran to him before picking his small frame up. He started to struggle in your arms, but you held onto him tightly.

“Loki, I didn’t mean it. I’m sorry, okay? I don’t do well with kids,” you sighed.

“I’m sorry,” he said in a small voice.

“No, you don’t get to be sorry. Here,” you placed him on the bean bag in the corner of your room before taking one of your throw pillows and spraying it with the perfume you always wore. Handing it to him, he clutched it as much as his tiny arms could. “Stay right here while I clean my room, okay?”

“Okay,” he sighed. Satisfied with his answer, you quickly cleaned your room. Your laundry basket was filled to the top, a new change of sheets on your bed, and you had time to dust your room as well. Loki watched patiently on the bean bag chair with his face in your pillow. Because he was so good, you decided to let him have a bit of leash this time.

“Want to help me with laundry?” you asked.

“Yeah!” he screamed as he got off the bean bag and ran out of your room with the pillow still clutched in his tiny hands. Chuckling, you followed after him to the laundry room. If he was like this as a kid, you kind of felt bad for him because all he really wanted was some love, and you’ve expressed how bad of a parent Odin was to Loki plenty of times.

“Okay, you can hand me the clothes,” you said as you started the washing machine. Loki was much better company this time around, but that didn’t stop him from acting like a little shit from time to time. Looking down at him, you saw he had one of your bras wrapped around his torso, so you snatched it away from his little body with an eye roll. He giggled very loudly, and you caught yourself thinking if he was a giggler as an adult. Seeing him as a child got you thinking about him as an adult. Like, what would he do if you yelled at him for being in your way as an adult? He would just smirk and continue to do it like the asshole he is. But not kid Loki, he was something sweet.

After the laundry was done, you thought it would be best to watch a movie to pass the time. Wherever Thor was, you hoped he was finding a cure because this little guy was taking a lot out of you. While Loki put on the movie, you got the popcorn, and soon you two were watching whatever he picked out. He decided that he didn’t want to be on his own side of the couch and crawled into your lap.

It was weird to see Loki this way because he would never do this as an adult. He showed so much emotion, it was hard to accept that when he turns back, this will all go away. It was also weird that he wanted you when adult him and you hated each other. Well, “hated” each other. That was code for “secretly in love with but too stupid to say anything, so I’m just going to stew in my feelings and lash out at the worst possible times while denying it until I die”. He was already screwed too much in his mind, so you didn’t want to put the pressure of a relationship onto him.

As the movie progressed, Loki began to get sleepy. Kids had endless amounts of energy that quickly dissolved at the most random times. From screaming to running around to getting on your nerves, it tired him out quickly. Before you knew it, he was putting his head on your shoulder as he slept. Looking down at the boy, you swiped his hair away from his eyes as you kept him comfortable. He looked almost peaceful, and you didn’t want to disturb him.

“I did it!” Thor yelled as he came barging into the castle. This woke Loki up, and he began whining as he nuzzled his face in your neck.

“What the hell? You just woke him up,” you snapped at Thor.

“Oh, I’m sorry, did you want to wait until he’s had a good night’s sleep, or did you want him to take the cure?” he sassed back.

“Come on, Loki. You need to drink this,” you said when Thor handed over the drink. He didn’t want to, but since you asked, he complied with your request. “When is he going to change back?”

“Should be by the morning.”

“Should be? You don’t know?”

“Hey, they didn’t really have a manual on what to do when my sorcerer of a brother who likes to get into a lot of trouble gets turned into a kid. So, yes, I don’t know.”

“Come on, Loki. Let’s put you to bed in your room,” you said as you picked him up.

“No, I wanna sleep with you,” he mumbled sleepily.

“Someone has a crush on the babysitter,” Thor smirked. Flipping him off, you trekked down the hallway to your clean bedroom. Placing Loki on the bed, he nuzzled under the blanket while you changed into pajamas.

“Just stay on your side,” you said before getting comfortable. You don’t really remember much except that he scooted closer to you and placed his head on your chest.

Something felt different. There was another person in your bed, but he was a kid. Wait, did that cure even work? Opening your eyes, you saw a very naked and adult Loki laying on your body. Blushing immensely, you tried to scooch out from underneath his embrace without waking him.

“Where are you going? You’re warm,” he chuckled as he pulled you back into him. His face nuzzled deeper into your neck, and he placed a few kisses on the patches of skin he could reach.

“Loki Laufeyson-Odinson! Get off me!” you exclaimed as you pushed him off. All he did was laugh as he saw the discomfort on your face as well as your reddened cheeks.

“I thought you always wanted to share a bed with me.”

“Get the fuck out of here. And put on some clothes!”

“I think you enjoyed last night. Cared for me in the way you wanted to. Me turning into a kid was the best thing that could have happened to you,” he said as he stood up without shame. Covering your eyes, you threw the first thing you could grab so he could cover himself up. He caught the throw pillow you gave him when he was a kid with a smirk.

“I’m keeping this. I’ll come back every so often to get you to spray that perfume that drives me crazy,” he laughed as he grabbed a throw blanket to wrap around his waist. He left the room but not without leaving an imprint on your mind. If the stress of your everyday life wasn’t going to kill you, he certainly was.
