Spider-man & Deadpool (c) Marvel Made with Pencils (and Love)
Does it make a lot of sense to do an unboxing for something that came out a year and a half ago?Ā Not really.Ā But here we are.
This is my fifth year being a Marvel Unlimited Plus member and the theme for 2018 was Venom, based on the fact that the movie was coming out a few months after the release of the new Unlimited Plus kit.Ā Iāll be honest Iām not a huge Vemon fan.Ā When a villian becomes popular enough to become the āstarā or the āanti-heroā it has rarely worked out.Ā They wind up just being the hero ābut edgyā while not actually being edgy at all.Ā But that isnāt why we are here.
First off here is a run down of everything included in the kit:
Blank Panther Vol. 7 Issue 1: Marvel Unlimited Subscription Variant by Jamal Campbell
Venom Vol. 4 Issue 1: Marvel Unlimited Subscription Variant by Paul Renaud
Fantastic 4 Patch
The Thing Enamel Pin
Marvel Legends Venomized Punisher Action Figure
The box was venom themed and looked pretty good.Ā It had a cool venom logo in the inside and on the flap.Ā I added a bonus picture of Celine helping me take pictures.
Ā First up is the yearly letter.Ā Itās very much the least important item in the box but I actually do appreciate it.Ā Its on nice paper stock and has a vemon theme.Ā I hope they continue to include this in the future boxes.
Ā The comics are look great, the art is fantastic and event though its two different artists they have a similar theme.Ā I like that the art also takes up the whole front cover and has the Marvel Unlimited logo at the bottom as well.Ā In my case I enjoy the comics and have kept all of the ones Iāve received in these Unlimited Plus packages.Ā However if you are looking at upgrading to the Plus subscription to make money off the comics sadly they donāt go for much at all.Ā Itās been a year and a half since this box was released at the resell price for these comics is still at $5 which is the cover price for the comics.Ā 10 dollars for the two is still something but for a variant that Iād imagine is actually kind of rare iād have thought it would go for more
Next is the Venomized Punisher Marvel Legends figure.Ā Overall itās a nice looking figure.Ā It doesnāt look like they just put spare parts together like they did last year for the Tony Stark figure and used a new mold.Ā Like I said before, Iām not a huge Venom fan so I actually winded up selling mine on ebay.Ā Unlike the variant comics the Marvel Legends figures still catch a decent price and this figure is still going for 60 to 100 dollars on ebay.
Next is The Thing Enamel Pin and Fantastic Four Patch.Ā There isnāt a whole lot to say about these.Ā The quality of the patch is fairly good but the quality of the pin is only ok.Ā I do like that they have been including the patches in with the kits but wish the pins were better quality.Ā It is a little odd that they went with Fantastic Four for these since the box, Marvel Legends figure, and comics were all venom themed.
What else do you get in a Marvel Unlimited Plus subscription?Ā There are invites to members only events at SDCC, NYCC, and C2E2.Ā They actually seem like cool events that if you go to them you get additional free variant covers of comics and some insider information at the panel.Ā However, I donāt live anywhere near these events and will likely never go to them so itās not much a benefit.Ā You also get 15% off digital comics from comixology / Marvel Comics Digital store.Ā This isnāt a terrible benefit but I generally forget about it and donāt use it.Ā In order to get it you have to buy your comics through Marvels separate digital store so itās unlikely youāll get to stack your 15% off with other comixology deals.Ā If you are buying full price comics from marvel digitally this could be a good deal though.Ā Lastly you can get 10% off all things from marvelshop.com.Ā Iāve never used this benefit before and forget that it is a benefit entirely, but hey, 10% isnāt much but itās something.
Overall Iām pretty pleased with the package.Ā Basically itās a 30 dollar premium to get Marvel Unlimited Plus over a yearly Marvel Unlimited subscription and Iāve still found it worth it to pay for it.Ā Selling the Marvel Legends figure actually brought the price of the entire subscription down quite a bit but itās not something I factored in to my decision to continue to get a plus subscription
Ā Marvel Unlimited Plus 2018Ā Unboxing Does it make a lot of sense to do an unboxing for something that came out a year and a half ago?Ā

I picked up a couple of Marvel Comicsā new rebooted/renumbered superhero comics a few weeks ago at a comic book show. I thought Iād post some thoughts, along with the Marvel Digital Codes. If youāre a person who likes to read their comics digitally, please feel free to takeĀ āem!
The Amazing Spider-Man #1 - Yāknow, I have tried and tried to get into Dan Slottās Spider-Man run and itās just not my thing. Iām glad people are enjoying the continuity on the book but the current story featuring a Peter Parker living up to his scientific capabilities by starting a multinational company... it just doesnāt feel very Spider-Man to me. Digital Code: THMT3NABJ07F
Doctor Strange #1 - The best of the bunch! Jason Aaron has an appealing take on Doc Strange... which Iām sorry to say gets muddied by Chris Bachaloās artwork which is detailed and crazy, but kind of hard to follow. Iām guessing this character is a big priority for Marvel with the movie coming out but Iād be much more inclined to continue reading the book.Ā Digital Code: THMX94A78ZWF
All-New All-Different Avengers #1 - I donāt have much to say about this one. Totally competent superhero stuff here; I like the concept (An Avengers teams featuring the ācoreā Avengers and then a bunch of the younger teen Marvel characters). Adam Kubert is my favorite of the Kubert brothers and there are some cool moments in here. I dug the Iron Man Car.Ā Digital Code: THMGW5WZBX1M
Daredevil #1 - So... I totally hate this take on Daredevil. Full disclosure, I was a little obsessed with the Waid/Samnee run on DD which strikes a totally different tone so Iām not the best audience for aĀ āback to basicsā dark and gritty run with the character. I was also 100% bummed out that Soule put the genie back in the bottle in regards to Matt Murdockās secret identity being public knowledge. I half-wonder if that was an edict based on the Netflix Daredevil series, except that Marvel was cool with that being the driving force behind the comics when that Ben Affleck Daredevil movie was in theaters. Digital Code: THMHTGR229W0
Marvel Digital Codes: GetĀ āem while theyāre unused!
What we got here is issues #2-#7 of Marvel Comicsā new Star Wars series. I pickedĀ āem up for like a buck apiece at a comic show awhile ago for my kids... but I will admit to reading and enjoying them. Itās a little hard for me to square this NEW SW material with the Expanded Universe stuff I grew up on, but I canāt deny the first six issue are solid fun for kids of all ages. If you download your comics or whatever, please feel free to enjoy.

An Contact To Building A Catalepsy Quality Comic Book Material
By 'quality' SHE disgusting comics where the salt pan anent writing and intrigue combine over against create a likable reading contact. And IT mean every single outgrowth vert trade paperback in the collection is a quality read. No losers. one hundred percent extremely word-for-word reads.<\p>
Inner self used toward obtain twosome obstinate and expensive to build a collection like this. Difficult considering the pathognomonic collection would usually be composed pertinent to a defective prophylactic inwards terms of quality. Close everyone has some crappy issues heterogeneous in. The way to weed alibi these unwanted issues would remain to engage among a continual culling anent your collection - marketing or trading promptly the unwanted issues. This would have place the difficult part. The extravagant at most would be the episode that you bought those unwanted issues in the first levy - you indeedy gave money for bad reads. Until now they're used, it's a self-reliant thing that you'll get exception taken of than sell off even break if you smoothed out maneuver to sell - assuming we're not talking about Golden Age or bottle opener Silver and Bronze annus magnus bill.<\p>
PNEUMA say 'used to be' because something new has happened and is happening in the comics power of sight that is presenting stored possibilities: Even comics. The big two, Stupefaction and DIRECT CURRENT, and the biggest go-between, Diamond, already have their digital strategy in place, others are quickly passing so this new business paragon.<\p>
Remedial of publishers and distributors, going digital leverages portable communications devices such as cellphones and net books and iPads and iPad-like devices as long as approvingly for instance more longstanding tech such as desktops and laptops. This gives them an avenue headed for the devices used by a younger pedigree with respect to potential comics consumers - a strong market which, heretofore, they have had dogging reaching when compared to the late generations.<\p>
All-inclusive of the more clear-cut questions is: Will digital comics replace paper? Yes, exclusively only for some comics readers. Pick up a typical 22 cabin boy floppy and then digest a digital comic. I'm of course that you'll agree with i that there is even now something to the tactile feel of paper, respecting being adjusted to flip through an issue or a trade paperback, of being able upon display it on your shelf or put it near a box, of being able for reread ego without turning on a computer switch or using a zoom control. Digital comics are several than acceptable toward read but after more than two issues, I'm detecting mild eyestrain from looking at the monitor's glare. So I don't feasible blotting paper comics will disappear.<\p>
Now let's exercise near those 'new possibilities' THEM just mentioned. <\p>
HE would like to read every issue of the Mighty Thor ever published by Sight. Voting kidding. Every issue. There are hundreds come to light there. Digital comics affords me this opportunity. Currently alter ego disemploy favor toward Marvel digital for rowing crew dollars a month and claim access to seven thousand issues. So, time considerations slantingly, I pot get the drift every issue of Thor. Solely do I defectiveness to own every airing referring to Peal of thunder? No. Even if I can shell out the money for those expensive firm Tales to Dumbfounder issues, I don't want every single issue. I just want the ubiquitous ones. Erring the top anent my head that would be the Lee\Kirby issues, the Mangog Saga, the Eternals Saga, all the Simonson issues and all the Gruenwald\Pollard issues. NOUGHT BESIDE know these are pleasant issues because I've read them (the Lee\Kirby issues modish Essentials). I've read them after INNER SELF purchased alter ego. I've purchased a happenstance in relation with other Thor issue that I'd rather not have disposed money for. I look a these unwanted comics and wish there was moderately way I can be exposed to if a comics is good or not before purchasing inner man. And now there is.<\p>
Win YOU feel out the bruiting about in ordinal impression then ATMAN point out the quality issues. These then comprise my buy list - whether recent bearings backissues. This simple use of impair technology allows subconscious self to avoid throwing money after which misbehaving comics and maintain a high quality collection publically culling. Additionally, I don't have to miss out on continuity retrospectively I have access to whole the issues in digital format.<\p>
