I can’t be bothered to do another long post about Lando+Martim because people are being very….. peculiar about it all suddenly and well fun is over!!! But there’s another element to the whole web of people here where Martim is linked to Magui too through his actress-cousin, and they’ve know each other for years and years :) and the Sainzs and the Reymão/Elkanns are family friends and one plus one is two and Martim and April Ivy are the mutual friends who likely linked Lando and Magui to one another okay that’s all!! Teeny tiny circles!!! That’s the most likely end of story here. Everything I’ve spoken of the situation is real things and facts looked at through the RPF lens whilst seeing queerness in my fav to come further to terms with queerness of my own but the discourse online about this situation has turned heteronormative because of the unfortunately very real repercussions people face for being queer because of culture and society-wide homophobia so I’m tapping out :3 it was interesting while it lasted! And from my end it wasn’t serious to begin with, just a fun little thing but it’s turned not fun now.

I’m also very very aware of the cultural differences between my own culture and Portugal/southern Europe in general. I’m very aware that in the south being more tactile and physically affectionate with friends is the norm!! I come from a culture where it isn’t, which thus prompts me to see such cases as potentially queer because tactility like that isn’t what I personally am used to. It already starts from the cheek kiss greeting in southern European cultures!!! In my culture that doesn’t exist!! So it’s understandable why to my personal eye things looked different, and I have to put in the conscious effort to remind myself to not look at situations with my outsider point of view, but to understand interactions in their own cultural context. But none of this was serious from my end, just a bit of fun with a dash of RPF and a general celebration of male affection!! I don’t know these people or their identities and I’ve never claimed to, critically thinking it’s me projecting my own identity to the people I follow, etc etc you get the jist.

Marlan sounds good too!!! I guess time will tell which one sticks (can you believe there was a time when people used mando for nortrell... I mean yeah it works but to me mando is mandalorian :P)

And as last time, my motive is genuine curiosity and interest and I have no ill intentions of any kind.
