i can't stop thinking about clingy actor in the markeline marriage but in a way that's so off-putting and contradictory and confusing to her that she interprets it as malicious or overbearing................he doesn't call or write her when he's spending weeks on location filming, not because he doesn't miss her, but because he takes his work way too seriously and gets super into character, and he knows thinking about her would just distract him from his role because he actually misses her so badly..........he feels so guilty for leaving her all alone all the time, but instead of explaining himself or giving her an actual apology, he tries to "make it up to her" through gifts and excessive compliments and lovey dovey behavior and an overbearing amount of physical affection and assumes that that's somehow enough...........it's coming from a genuine place of missing her and feeling bad about not giving her time, but to celine it just seems like her husband doesn't give a shit about her and is trying to hide it by performing grand romantic gestures when he comes home, and her rejection of his attempts only make him frustrated and hurt and confused..........neither of them have ever had a healthy relationship, much less a healthy conversation with a partner, in their lives so they don't realize that they could just talk it out and reach a compromise, instead continuing to double down on their own strategies of dealing with it and hurting each other in the process..........and that's not even considering the evil house entity's interference in all this.............
