Sapphic September 2020 – Day 20: Witches

Fandom: Hannibal (TV)

Pairing: Marigail (Marissa/Abigail)

Thoughts: This moodboard was meant to include a full fic with it, but I'm no longer inspired to write it. However, I figured that it's never too late to share the moodboard that I created for the fic idea. And who knows, maybe someday someone will be inspired to write the fic so I don't have to!

The only scene I really had in my head for this fic was the opening one, where Abigail is being followed home by a group of bully boys (3-5 of them) who are jeering at her and threatening to get physical with her, and this is when her powers manifest in order to protect herself from them. Afterwards, the boys are terrified of her, and Abigail is terrified that she could get in big trouble for hurting them. The nearest witching school (perhaps the official witching school of the state of Minnesota?) sends a representative to her parents' front door almost immediately and offers to make the problem go away if Abigail will join their boarding school to learn how to control and harness her magic. Her dad tries to stop them by killing Abigail so she can never leave him, but the person from the school shows off their powers and stops him, warning him that if he ever tries to hurt her or anyone else again, they will make sure he is taken care of. This stops him in his tracks.

Abigail reluctantly agrees to go to boarding school, feeling like she has no other choice after hurting the boys who were bullying her and her dad almost killing her at the thought of her leaving but being stopped by the witching school representative. Though initially Abigail is lonely and sad, after she joins the boarding school, she meets and slowly falls in love with Marissa, one of the other witches on her dormitory floor (or her roommate?) who is everything Abigail wishes she could be and who seems to think Abigail is pretty cool, too (inexplicably, in Abigail's opinion).

That's about where my idea ends. But tbh, you can create anything inspired by this idea and/or the moodboard; it doesn’t have to follow what I was thinking. Also, anyone is free to create for this idea if they want to, regardless if someone else has already done so or not. (It's free real estate, babeyyy.) All I ask is 1) don’t repost my moodboard anywhere, and 2) please include a link to my moodboard with your creation!

God, me too I really wish we could have seen more interactions between her and Alana. To be honest, I feel like Abigail would take a really long time to to open up and trust Alana since she establishes a professional relationship with Abigail right off the bat. Alana could have been a great mother figure for Abigail is she wasn’t too unstable to accept that kind of healthy relationship.

Another relationship I would loved to have seen more of is Abigail and Marissa. We only got one scene of them together but it’s obvious that Marissa really cared about Abigail and was very protective over her. I would have loved to see her stay by Abigail’s side throughout the show and whether or not she would stay loyal to her after knowing about all the things she had done and her reaction to her faking her death at the end of season one. Also I do really love the idea of Marissa being Abigail’s really defensive & loyal gf, that would have been really cute.
