Not carrying Paisley around for the night made her feel off, like some part of her were missing. She could at least keep an eye on her daughter and brother if necessary, but needed to use this time a part as a way to meet new people. She’d talked to a few, nothing long lasting coming out of it. Jemma thought this might be a time for her and Emerson to talk without the baby around, but as she made her way in that direction, she quickly turned around as she noticed the other woman all over him. They weren’t technically together, and the pangs of jealousy she felt shouldn’t have happened, yet it didn’t stop her from grabbing another drink and finding a table far enough a way from witnessing any of it. She found one, occupied by one other and jumping at the chance. “Do you mind if I sit with you?”

Anthony scanned the numerous shelves of shoes. They all looked different, not grasping how many he really needed or even his appropriate shoe size. Mariana had promised to help him though, and with the way his mind kept wondering, Ant was happy she was there to help. “Is every party going to be like that? Because I may just go back into the water and take whatever punishment I’m going to get back home.”

This hadn’t been how Leilani wanted to spend her night, willing to just stay in. If it wasn’t for Mariana, that’s exactly what she would be doing. The party would be a nice distraction, though. She wouldn’t be able to sit through the full moon waiting to hear from Garrett the next day. Leilani looked over at the woman who was quickly becoming a friend, “Thanks for making me come out tonight. I was ready to waste a perfectly good friday night in my pajamas.”

The storm had come out of nowhere, throwing him off guard as he tried to keep the chaos down to a minimum. With the rain, his uniform was soaked through within minutes as he directed people to cover or a safer way back to their cars. As less people seemed to be on the street, Miles walked past the vendors and tents to make sure there weren’t any last minute stragglers trying to get away. Mariana had been the last person he expected to see, almost comical seeing her huddled under the tiny umbrella. He approached her, a quizzical look on his face. “What are you doing? Isn’t your hair going to get ruined from the rain?”

Ben’s arm draped over Mariana’s shoulders, his eyes scanning the crowd for the one person he actually wanted to talk too. He pressed a kiss into her hair, whispering into her ear. “You look beautiful. The sexiest woman here by far.”
