âSame old, same old, huh?â Emmett could attest to the same exact routine, wanting to just get through life not actually living in it. He didnât know where all the pessimism had come from lately, and while he tried to at least remain stable, that was slowly crumbling underneath him as the days went on. âI appreciate it.â He added after joining her with a slight brush of a glance. âAnd, I could be better. Kind of justâŚgoing to work and going home. Iâm glad to get out today though. Iâm glad you could come too.â
âWhy fix something that isnât broken?â It may not have been much of a life, though it got her by enough to survive in whatever was happening to this town. This lunch date gave her something outside of the routine she stuck herself in, maybe some prospect to have a little bit of fun and out of the funk she was in. âThis sounds like we both needed this get together. Maybe weâre in our heads too much, which is not a great place to be a majority of the time.â
