âWell milord, you have charmed me, I must say.â
âCharmed you? Well then I must say I am a lucky man to have achieved that.â He said. âBut may I ask how exactly I managed to charm you?â
âOh milord you must not act so innocently. Coming to my house, asking to hold tea with me. Dancing with me at the last two balls I attended⌠a boy gets ideas. It was your goal, if not a minor thought of yours to charm me was it not?â
âMy dearest, I would and could never disagree with that statement.â
âWell then I must say I have contempt with this night.â
âAs do I, my lord.â
With that he turned us on the dance floor, all I could see was the blur of the walls and his face, smiling ever so happily.
I felt as though my soul had started glowing in my chest, filling my body with an incredible warmth.Â
After the music had calmed down, he led us off the dance floor to another room. There were tables with carafes filled with wine, water, juices and more. Off to the side was an assemblement of small or d'oeuvres, pastries, rolls and aspic.Â

I wanna see where you go with this: Sam's been wanting to propose to Dean for a while, but doesn't want to make Dean uncomfortable with a traditional proposal. So when he finds out White Castle does a Valentine's day event, it's perfect. Dean's definitely off guard, because he's all dressed up and now feels ridiculous. But the night quickly turns around when Sam proposes when they're in the middle of eating. And Sam proposes with the Samulet. Of course, Dean says yes. Why wouldn't he?
Hope you like it ;)
When Sam was five, their dad leaved them with their babysitter, Elena, and her nine years old daughter, Stephanie.
She invited Sam to her tea party, which consisted on sitting around a table with her bears and pretend to be drinking. It was fun, and she even put makeup on Sam because she said that it was the only way for a boy to be allow at her table.
He wasnât really sure what to make about that rule, but the makeup was nice, and Dean told him he was pretty so he didnât say anything.
âWhen I grow up, I want our house to have a room full of tea, from all around the worldâ
âOur house?â Sam asked, taking another invisible sip
âYes, when we will be marriedâ
âWhat?â
âOh, that simple. Weâre gonna grow up, and then youâll ask me to marry youâ Stephanie said
âWhy⌠Why should I marry you?â
âWell, who do you want to marry, if itâs not me?â She gave him the most intense bitch he ever seen, and he wonders briefly if he would ever be able to do it too.
âHow do you choose the person you want to marry?â
âI think⌠I think you need to choose someone that you trust, someone that love you, no matter what, that make you laugh and smile even when youâre feeling down. Someone that is always by your sideâ She bitted her lips before leaning forward him âI donât think you can ever find someone like that, you know? I think⌠You just marry whoever you can, as soon as possibleâ
âYou donât have to marry someone, you know?â
âI knowâ She said, taking another sip âBut no one wants to end up aloneâ
This night, when everybody in the house was asleep, Sam slipped into Deanâs bed, shaking his shoulder until his brother finally woke up.
âWhat?â Dean whispers, obviously annoyed
âDean, do you want to marry me?â Sam can feel his heart beating stronger and stronger, his hands sweating with stress. His brother has all the qualities to marry him, but what if he doesnât? Because will Dean protects him all the time, he isnât sure heâs doing the same. Dean deserves someone who can protect him.
âWeâre brothers, Sammy. Brothers canât get marriedâ His voice is softer, and Sam can see him smiles
âBut I want tooâ Sam whines and holds on Dean arms like heâs holding on life itself, making him sights in annoyance.
âFine. You know what? When youâre old enough, if you still want to marry me, weâll find a way. Deal?â
âDealâ Sam smiles, sliding comfortably in his brotherâs arms.
Time went by, hunt after hunt, fight after fight, Sam screaming things he didnât meant and dad answering right back. Dean was always here, in the corner of the room, quiet but ready to put himself between them if things got out of end.
They kissed for the first time after Sam ran away at 12. He never seen Dean so angry, scared, and desperate.
They kissed for the last time before Sam went to Stanford.
They made promises, a lot of them, and maybe they didnât respect each one of them, the most important was remains: it was the two of them against the world.
They felt back into their relationship when Dean was dying, when death was still something they feared, and if Sam was honest, he would say that they never really ended it up.
âI donât understand why everybody think weâre a coupleâ Dean said, throwing his bag in the corner of the room
âBecause we are?â Sam raised his eyebrows, smirking at his brother
âYeah, but they donât know thatâ
âBobby always said that we fight like married couple, so thereâs that, probablyâ He enrolled his arms around Dean waist, dropping kisses in his neck
âWell, weâre not marriedâ Dean said, finally releasing his crossed arms before facing Sam and putting them around his neck âWhich is a shame considering you asked me to marry you when you were fiveâ
Sam frowned, unable to remember it for a long moment before the face of the red hair little girl popped into his head.
âI completely forgot thatâ
âYeah, I noticeâ Dean said, kissing him deeply âIâll just wait a little longer, right?â
He laughed, walking forward the bathroom
They grown up in each other pocket, thatâs the last that can be said, and theyâre able to tell what the other wants, needs, even before he knows it himself. Yet, Sam is unable to know if Dean was serious or not.
Heâs in the jewelry for what seems like hours, looking at the rings over and over.
Heâs not sure that taking a ring is the right things to do. Dean is⌠Well, Dean is Dean, and a ring seems like something to common, to traditional.
Heâs afraid of Dean reaction, too. He doesnât want to make Dean uncomfortable by proposing him while he doesnât want, or in a way that may offense him.
So, he starts doing what he does the best: research. He doesnât think thereâs someone who post online about how to propose to your brother, but he does find interesting things.
He thinks about hanging the rings at Babyâs mirror, but heâs not sure Dean would understands.
One day, theyâre working on a case, wearing their FBI suits, and Dean looks so sexy, so nice, the sun making his eyes even greener, his face even lighter, and Sam is two seconds away from simply dropping on his knees and propose him. He doesnât propose but he still dropped to his knees that day.
They get out of the shower and Sam thinks that yeah, maybe asking Dean in a motel room isnât that bad. But when he turned around, Dean is already on the bed, completely naked, and asleep.
He gets so tired of it that he wonders briefly if he could just slide a ring on Deanâs finger and be done with it. Thereâs no doubt that Dean would been really offense by that.
âWe should go on a dateâ Sam says, closing his laptop
Dean looks at him for a long time, frowning, and Sam thinks heâs about to say no when Dean simply smiles, his eyes shinning with excitement.
âFor a special occasion?â
âNo, just like thatâ
âAlright then, Sammy boyâ
âTonight?â
âTonight, it is thenâ
Sam gets up, quickly putting his books in his bag before walking forward Dean and kissing him.
âI need to go to the library. Iâll make the reservation and send you the address, so you can meet me thereâ
âSounds perfectâ
Dean looks at his watch for what seems to be the hundredth time today. Itâs almost 7, which means that he needs to go if he doesnât want to be late. He didnât look up the name of the restaurant, trying to keep as much surprise as possible.
Heâs almost sure Sam will propose him today. Itâs stupid to be so excited about it, but he needs it, more than anything. He needs to know that Sam wants him, completely and in all the ways possible. That he forgave him for his mistakes.
He wants them to have something to remember as a couple, something as normal as possible.
The place is thirty minutes away from where they are staying but Dean canât help the weird feeling in his stomach when he looks next to him and doesnât see his brother. Itâs Samâs spot, and not having him here throws him back to too many memories.
He frowns when he sees the bright sign of White Castle. He parks his car quickly and checks the text Sam sent him. Itâs the right address, but thereâs no way Sam chose this place.
âDean?â Sam calls, standing in front of the car âYouâre gonna stay in Baby all night?â
âI⌠No, of courseâ He clears his throat, wondering if it would be insulting to just drive off without Sam. Yeah, it probably would be.
âWow, youâreâŚâ
âRidiculous, yeah, I knowâ He says, crossing his arms around his chest. Heâs wearing his special suit that he kept in the car just in case, and yeah, he does look good in it, but this place isnât the type of place youâre supposed to wear suit.
âI was going with awesomeâ
âWhatever, can we just go back to the motel?â He asks, his cheeks burning with embarrassment
âWhat? No, I made a reservationâ
âFine. Letâs get over with itâ He doesnât wait Sam and walks straight to the dinner. Which, yeah, ok, itâs stupid, considering he doesnât know under what name Sam did the reservation, but he doesnât care right now.
Thereâs heart-shaped balloons on the celling and red everywhere, but he isnât impressed. Valentine dayâs is tomorrow, and all the restaurant are trying their best to gain costumers.
The waitress takes them to their table before leaving them alone. The tension is palpable between them, but all Dean can think about is how ridiculous he looks, wearing a suit in a freaking dinner. Why did he ever thought Sam was going to propose?
âI heard their burgers are amazingâ Sam says, looking at the menu
âNo kidding? A dinner that can do burgers? We never stop progress, do we?â
He catches Sam eyes just in time to see how hurt he is, and itâs enough to make him feel guilty.
âI thought⌠Just order, alright?â He sights, rubbing his face
âI- Yeah, of courseâ
The rest of the dinner goes with as little conversation as possible. The burger is great, and so is the beer, but itâs not enough to take Dean embarrassment away, not when he sees someone looking at him with a funny face.
âRemember the last time we eat there?â Sam asks, playing nervously with his hands
âNoâ
âReally?â Thereâs hurt on Samâs face one again, and Dean wants to slap himself. He never should have agreed to come here.
âSorry Sam. I donât remember every shitty dinner we eat atâ
âI⌠I was fourteen, and we, you took the care, and just⌠Drive. We went to see a movie, and then you took me here, to the White House dinner. You said it was the perfect date, and then you, uh, you kissed me, and you told me⌠You told me you loved me. For the first time.â
Dean smiles, remembering this day. He has no idea how he ever forgot it. Itâs still one of his best memories, a normal couple day he was able to give to Sam.
âYeah, I remember nowâ
âIâm sorry, if you think this is a shitty place, Dean, thatâs not what I wanted you to thinkâ
âSammy, I- â
âNo, let me finish, pleaseâ Sam takes his hand, smiling softly âI wanted to come here because thatâs where you told me you loved me for the first time, and thatâs also where we were out in public as a couple for the first time, and not as brothers. I thought it was important, because what I want to ask you, what I need to ask you, itâs- Itâs the most couple thing I can askâ He laughs awkwardly before sliding his hand in his pocket
He puts something in his hands, and Dean doesnât have to watch to know what it is.
âI know I was supposed to get you a ring, and weâll, later, but I⌠Marriage, itâs not about rings. Itâs about giving yourself to someone, promising him that youâll be here, no matter what, no matter when. I remember being little and not being sure youâll want to marry me, because I wasnât able to protect you. I am, now, most of the time. This, itâs⌠Itâs me being with you, always. Protecting you, as much as I can. Loving you, always. Itâs the closest thing of my soul I could get you, and I needed it to ask you thisâ He clears his throat, holding Deanâs hands tighter âDean, would you marry me?â
âYeah, Sammy, of course yesâ He laughs, throwing himself at Sam neck. His eyes are full of tears, but he doesnât care, simply hold on his brother as much as he can. âI love you, bitchâ
Sam smiles, recognizing the very same sentence Dean told him so long ago now.
I looked at Vlad. His expression was darker with intensity and the grip he had on my hand was both warm and unbreakable.
In some ways, he intimidated me more now than he had the day Iâd met him. Vlad loved the same way that he livedâuntamable, dangerous, and full throttle, just as heâd warned me. Iâd felt the repercussions of that love more than once and Iâd feel it again if I said yes, yet like before, I only had one answer.
âYes. Yesterday, today, forever . . . yes.â
