Me: *rolls down the window in my dad’s old pickup truck*
Jefferson: *pauses for a beat* That’s a funny way to put down the window!
So we're test driving this 1984 Ford Dualy pick-up truck and my dad is driving with the current owner in the passenger seat. I'm in the back sitting between my two younger brothers because they fight incessantly. Well at one point one of them notices the window handle and asks what it is, will the door open if he messes with it, what happens if he turns it? Well I assure him nothing bad will happen so he starts to roll down the window and his mind is blown and he starts freaking out saying how cool it is and how all cars should have windows like these. I just face-palmed, really hard.
What else are kids today totally unaware of but would think was really cool like that? When I was a kid my VCR didn't have the ability to rewind tapes so I had to take them out and attach some contraption to them with a handle and manually crank them back (I can't find a pic of this thing to save my life) that was until we got this nifty tape rewinding machine until I broke it after stuffing my Polly Pockets in them all the time. When is the last time you even saw a VCR? What about automatic car seat belts? The first time I got into my aunt's car and that damn strap started coming for me I thought it was a reincarnation of Christine coming to kill me! Whatever happened to those things, were they unsafe or was it considered incorrect to pretty much force someone to where the seat belt?
