¿What in the name of the titan is 'proshipping'? ¿'Antishippers'?
Calm down people, ships/shipping is just a silly activity, it's not the end of the world.
Sure it can be a little distasteful to ship canonically aro characters, ¿but also it literally does not matter?
People will really find anything to hate and form an identity around it. It's especially bad here because such could be miraculously solved by simply ignoring shipping content.
There is nothing 'problematic' about shipping. Abusive ships are written to be abusive, and people are absolutely free to make AUs or variants or headcanons of aro and/or ace characters to do whatever the heck they want. I like that you can write everything, even if I do gawk at tags on occasion.
And, probably a hot take in this, even writing really strange ships (minors/adults, past abuse, active torture, coerced, that kinda stuff) is fine. They're words upon a page -- their entire purpose is to make you feel and think things. So if there being an objectionable relationship makes you uncomfortable, it's doing its job.
It's like, the reverse of Caine from tADC's problem: bad things in stories are good because they make for enjoyable stories; bad things in real life are bad because they are bad.
I may not want to read the ungodly quantity of Jasper/Lapis noncon myself, but I'm glad that gets to exist. The internet is a magical place.
