for all the criticisms of jill's therapy he has john doesnt actually know shit about like helping hoffman w his alcoholism other than distracting him w work and having him not drink 0 drop ever. but you cant do that you have to taper it down otherwise you can die. so hoffman starts seizing while theyre working on something in the Jigsaw Lair™️ and he cant call the ambulance so he has jill come down and tell him what to do (and from then on their relationship improves a bit bc they still love each other and jill still visits as we see but she cant get over the whole torture thing. sad.) so after that john sucks it up and lets hoffman drink around him as harm reduction so he doesnt do it at his job and give the whole game away :3
