Do you think the trope of "characters being turned into something monstrous and seemingly destined for evil but still CHOOSING to be good and to do good for as long as possible" reflects Azula in any way? After all, there were moments when Azula tried to be supportive of Zuko despite being raised in an environment that encouraged sibling rivalry. I don't think that trope counts as a redemption arc in any way. I do think Azula tried her best(for the most part) to be good.
I mean, I guess it can. In the show we are given moments where it's shown that Azula has good in her, it's just been buried thanks to her upbringing. And besides the actions that we see Azula undertake in the show aren't borderline evil like the narrative wants us to believe they are.
