People rarely talk about “institutional” misandry, they just say it’s misandry or sexism against men.

When they do talk about institutional/system issues, it’s things like gendered rape/abuse laws and support.

Which, um, feminists heavily contribute to by calling both “violence against women” (by men). And claiming all domestic abuse must be out of misogyny.

You can find feminists having protests and sending death threats when men OR women try to talk about women’s issues. Including other feminists, sometimes.

Heck, when India tried to make their sexual assault laws gender-neutral a decade ago - to include men at all - local women’s advocates successfully stopped them. 

The spokesperson was a woman.

And it continued since then. In fact, it’s still legal.

Women got the right to vote in America a century ago.

And you specifically used the present tense. Not something that happened before your grandma was born.

Almost like you chose that specifically because it was “safe” to blame exclusively on men!

Incidentally, the first Federal draft was the result of the Selective Service Act, 1917. Women got the 19th Amendment in 1920.

A whole three years.

Also, things can be both classism and sexism.

Meanwhile, in the UK, the White Feather Girls who shamed men into WW1 were often also suffragates who couldn’t vote.

Complete strangers could compel men into risking their lives.

Somehow, I don’t think that fits the narrative.

Especially when men didn’t have universal suffrage either.

How are male DV victims not an example of systemic sexism when “these idiots” often explicitly say it is?

IME, most feminists only discuss the draft when someone else says it's an issue for men, or there's a chance women will be included.

And even then, most will not say it's currently an issue for men only.

I once asked a feminist point blank, and they refused to answer.

And as you see in the screenshots, mamaterf wants feminists to get credit for fighitng the draft, but is clearly mad at men for talking about it.

Like I said in >these threads< (Archive), if the US government actually uses the Selective Service Act to draft men, then it's already too late to fight it.

In fact, men might go to prison for resisting, just like with Vietnam.

Kaijucody said the draft will never be used again, so men shouldn't complain. Okay, so why do you care when men try to get rid of it?

Answer: because that shows sexism against men is a big deal. In a "Patriarchal" government that's supposed to be biased in men's favor.*
