Dean took Sammy by the hand and pulled at him to go forward, “We can’t carry you forever.”, he told him, and it broke his heart—both their hearts. Sammy didn’t verbally argue back, he felt like all eyes were on him, as he walked through the main room. Dean squeezed his hand, “You’ll grow bigger, you know? And who knows, maybe even bigger than me.”, he jokes, hoping it would cheer his little brother up. Sammy’s eyes widen and they sparkle as they look up to Dean, his big brother. They glistened because of the tears that were drying now. He mouthed, “Really?” he didn't manage to say it with words.

Dean fondly nods, “Sure. If you eat and drink enough, I bet you could catch up to me, one day.”, he promises him, unsure if Sammy would actually ever grow as tall as he. Dean was quite big for his age. John was able to and sometimes actually did put his elbow on Dean’s head when he grows tired of holding it himself—that’s how big Dean is. He’s proud about it. Well, big at least in height. Dean’s wrist were as thin as the neck of a 0.5l bottle.

Since that day, Sammy told himself to never play with his food again. Even if he would get frustrated at eating it, he wouldn’t smear it across his face. He’d bravely eat it all, to grow as tall as Dean.
